Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok is a content-expanded action RPG on Nintendo Switch 2, with four-character battles, solo and online quests, and Switch 2-exclusive local co-op. Its feature list makes the platform version distinct, but the available evidence does not establish how well it performs in handheld or docked play. Treat this as a feature-focused review, not a performance verdict.
What is Endless Ragnarok, and what does it add?
Endless Ragnarok is an expanded release of Granblue Fantasy: Relink, rather than a separate genre or a Switch 2-only spin-off. Cygames identifies it as an action RPG and lists Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Steam versions. It launched on July 9, 2026, according to the Cygames launch notice.
The expansion builds on the original game’s combat and progression with new activities and ways to strengthen characters. Nintendo’s Switch 2 product listing highlights summons, more playable characters and master traits, tougher co-op quest tiers and bosses, and Conflux, a solo mode. It also lists crossplay and a local co-op option exclusive to the Switch 2 version.
How does combat and quest play work?
Combat centers on a four-character party whose members have distinct mechanics. Players can coordinate party attacks, including link attacks and chain bursts. Nintendo also lists Assist Mode, intended to help players who want support progressing to the story’s conclusion.
#1 Best Overall
- Major Additions in Endless Ragnarok: From new stories to game modes, Relink has been refined and revamped for the ultimate action RPG experience.
- Embark on new adventures: Although the Astral Lilith's machinations lay thwarted, winds of change begin to stir within the Zegagrande Skydom... Strange beings called the "ragnalia" herald the end times. Mysterious gateways beckon would-be challengers into a realm of chaos. And even the mighty Beelzebub, with his wings of steel, descends upon Zegagrande.
- Call in the big guns: During their journey, players will unlock the ability to equip and call forth summons, adding a new dimension to battle strategy. Once channeled by Lyria, some summons can be temporarily controlled by the player; but if certain conditions are met, others will make a spectacular entrance alongside a new type of chain burst—the "primal burst."
- More to master, more to play: New co-op quest tiers and additional bosses. The Conflux, an all-new solo mode where unpredictable challenges and enigmatic powers lurk within its depths. The introduction of master traits to push characters beyond their limits. Summons to expand tactical options.
Quests include boss fights and horde-survival missions. They can be played offline or online, with online play supporting one to four players. Summons add another tactical option: some can be directly controlled, while others appear as a primal burst under specified conditions, as described by Nintendo.
Does the expanded content have a strong replay loop?
Conflux is the clearest new solo activity in the available feature descriptions. It offers short stages, randomized buffs, varied challenge types, and rewards. In a July 7, 2026 review, PC Gamer’s Kerry Brunskill praised the variety and replay loop, and said the mode’s difficulty curve felt smooth to the reviewer. That is an individual critical assessment of the expansion, not a guarantee that every player will find the challenge balanced.
The co-op additions give returning players another progression path: Nintendo lists escalating quest tiers and bosses, along with more playable characters and master traits. These systems point toward a game designed to keep party-building and repeat quests relevant after the story, though the official listing alone cannot establish how much time or grinding that progression requires.

What is distinctive about the Switch 2 edition?
The confirmed platform-specific advantage is local co-op, which Nintendo identifies as exclusive to the Switch 2 version. The listing also supports TV, tabletop, and handheld play, as well as local wireless and online play for one to four players. Crossplay is listed as a feature, but the product description does not specify every platform combination or explain matchmaking details.
These are meaningful flexibility options for players who want to play on the go, share a system locally, or join online sessions. They do not, by themselves, show how readable combat cues are on the handheld screen or how stable online matchmaking is in practice.
How does it perform on Switch 2?
The Nintendo listing provides no frame-rate or resolution measurements, and the cited independent review discusses the expansion without establishing Switch 2-specific performance. There is therefore no sound basis here for claiming a particular frame rate, resolution, loading speed, or handheld-versus-docked image quality—or for ranking this version against PS5, PS4, or Steam.

For a platform-specific technical verdict, the useful checks would be image clarity in handheld and docked modes, frame pacing during effects-heavy battles, loading, the visibility of combat cues on the handheld display, and online matchmaking stability. Those are evaluation criteria, not verified findings about this release.

Check the store for your region before buying, especially if you are deciding between the full game and an upgrade kit; the product information does not establish the contents of each kit in this summary. Languages and accessibility details
Cygames lists interface text in Japanese, English, French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain), Brazilian Portuguese, Korean, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese, with Japanese and English audio. Nintendo’s US listing specifies American English and presents a broad set of interface languages. Cygames lists an ESRB Teen rating.
Verdict: who is this version for?
The Switch 2 edition is the clearest fit for players who value portable play or want the listed local co-op option, while its party combat and added solo and co-op activities give the expanded release a substantial feature set on paper. Conflux has received a positive assessment for variety from PC Gamer, but there is not enough platform-specific evidence here to recommend the Switch 2 edition on technical performance. Check the current regional price and listing before purchase, and choose it for its confirmed modes and content rather than an unverified performance advantage.
