If you only plan to play Gran Turismo 7 on PS5, the Standard Edition is the sensible default. Choose Digital Deluxe only if its additional items or PS4/PS5 entitlement are worth the live price difference to you. If you are buying a PS4 copy to use on PS5 later, the upgrade rules depend on whether you buy the disc or digital version.

Which edition should you buy for PS5?
Choose Standard for the game itself
The PS4/PS5 Standard Edition provides the game and 750,000 CR, with access to both console versions. If you are buying only for PS5, its additional PS4 entitlement is not a reason to pay more unless you expect to use it. Check the current listing and compare formats if you specifically want a disc.

Deluxe makes sense if the Toyota GR Yaris, avatars, soundtrack, or dual-console entitlement justify the price difference for you. The store presents two credit amounts—1,500,000 CR and 2,000,000 CR—but does not clearly establish whether they are added together. Do not treat them as a combined total; verify the live purchase details if the credits affect your decision.

Consider the physical 25th Anniversary edition as a collectible
The launch announcement is historical, not a guarantee about current retail listings. If you find a copy, confirm exactly which items are present and whether its PS4 voucher can still be redeemed in your region.
Can you upgrade a PS4 edition to PS5?
PlayStation says a PS4 Standard Edition can be upgraded to the PS5 digital version for an additional cost. Its current FAQ does not specify the upgrade price. The $10 figure sometimes associated with the upgrade came from PlayStation’s September 21, 2021 launch announcement and was the price stated for the option at release; it is not a current price quote. If you own the PS4 disc, you must use a PS5 with a disc drive: the disc has to be inserted to access the PS5 digital upgrade. A PS4 disc cannot be used with the PS5 Digital Edition. Check the current upgrade price and compare it with the PS4/PS5 bundle before deciding which route costs less.
What else should you check before buying?
- Store region: The cited prices and offer timing are for the US storefront. Check the listing for your account’s region, since prices and availability can differ.
- Online play: PlayStation says online play is optional and requires PlayStation Plus. Its page lists support for up to 20 online players with PS Plus; do not assume every mode or feature is available offline. PlayStation product page
- Disc format: A PS4 disc upgrade requires a PS5 with a disc drive. If you have a PS5 Digital Edition, choose a digital version instead.
- Deluxe contents: Confirm the exact current entitlement details at checkout, particularly if you are counting on the credit entries.
Bottom line
For a PS5 player who wants Gran Turismo 7 without the Deluxe extras, buy Standard. Pay more for Digital Deluxe only when its listed extras or dual PS4/PS5 access make sense at the live regional price. A PS4 disc can be upgraded only on a PS5 with a disc drive, and PlayStation does not currently state the upgrade price in its FAQ.
