Gothic II Complete Classic brought the 2002 role-playing game to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on September 29, 2026, bundled with its Night of the Raven expansion. The early PlayStation Store response reported on October 3 was notably positive—but it is a snapshot of user ratings, not a settled verdict on the game.
What arrived on PlayStation
This is a console release of Gothic II, not a remake. The PlayStation Store lists Gothic II Complete Classic for PS4 and PS5, with Night of the Raven included. THQ Nordic announced the console launch on September 29, 2026, also naming Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S as platforms. The PlayStation listing identifies it as a one-player RPG. It says the PS5 version supports DualSense vibration and trigger effects; it does not establish a broader visual or performance upgrade over other versions.
Why the early PS5 response is drawing attention
In an article dated October 3, 2026, ComicBook.com reported a PlayStation Store score of 4.88 out of 5 after more than 243 user reviews, with 95% of reviews at five stars. Those numbers describe the store-rating snapshot reported on that date. User reviews can change as more players rate the game, and the figures are not an independent assessment of reception. What the Complete Classic package includes
The store describes the story as continuing after the magical barrier falls and prisoners escape the Valley of Mines. Former prisoners roam Khorinis, bandits threaten travelers, and the town militia is stretched thin. Players return as the Nameless Hero in a world changed by those events.
The store says newcomers can enjoy the game without having played the first Gothic, while also presenting Gothic II as a continuation of that story. It describes three character guilds with distinct allies, enemies, and skills, multiple ways to resolve quests, and combat using weapons and magic.

THQ Nordic stated a €29.99 price for the console editions in its 2026 announcement. That is the publisher’s stated price, not a guarantee of the amount charged in every regional storefront; check the local PlayStation Store for the price available to you. The publisher’s game page said retailer information was still to follow, so the available official information does not establish a physical PS4 or PS5 edition or an Amazon listing.

In its April 14, 2026 trilogy announcement, THQ Nordic scheduled Gothic III Classic for November 24, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. That is the publisher’s announced schedule, not confirmation that the later release has taken place.
