The Google Pixel 11 Pro is a polished, compact Android flagship, but its biggest appeal is a collection of refinements rather than a dramatic leap over the Pixel 10 Pro. It starts at $1,099 in the US with 256GB of storage, adds built-in Pixelsnap and Qi 2.2 wireless charging up to 25W, and carries Google’s seven-year update commitment. TechRadar’s reviewer found it strong overall but advised Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 owners to wait; that is a reviewer’s buying judgment, not a rule for every upgrade.
What’s new in the Pixel 11 Pro?
The changes are useful, but most are improvements around the existing Pixel Pro formula. Google announced the Pixel 11 series on August 12, 2026, and said retail availability began August 20. Its August 25 post confirmed the phones were on shelves.
- Brighter display: Google claims the Pro’s Super Actua display reaches up to 3,600 nits peak brightness. TechRadar describes the screen as similar on paper to the Pixel 10 Pro, with brightness the notable change.
- More scratch resistance: Google says a new coating has more than double the scratch resistance of the previous generation. This is a manufacturer claim, not an independently established durability result.
- Magnetic accessories: Pixelsnap is built in, and Google specifies Qi 2.2 wireless charging up to 25W. Check that a charger or accessory explicitly supports the phone before buying.
- HiLight: Colored lights around the camera flash provide glanceable signals when the phone is face down, including patterns for Gemini listening, thinking, or responding.
- Tensor G6: Google says the chip delivers 25% faster web browsing and 15% quicker app launches than Tensor G5 at launch. It also claims on-device AI tasks run up to 3.5 times faster while using up to 3.5 times less energy. These are Google’s comparisons, not independent benchmark findings.
- Long support: Google promises seven years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates.
Google’s product managers describe the generation as bringing “refined hardware” and more proactive Gemini support. That framing fits the changes: the phone adds practical refinements, but does not amount to a wholesale redesign.

Google announced a US starting price of $1,099 for the Pixel 11 Pro. TechRadar’s September 3, 2026 review lists the 256GB model with 12GB of RAM and the 512GB model with 16GB of RAM. Its listed 512GB prices were $1,219 in the US, £1,199 in the UK, and AU$2,049 in Australia. These are dated review price points, not guaranteed current prices; retailer deals, stock, and regional configurations can change.

TechRadar notes that the base model starts with twice the storage of the previous model’s base configuration, but less RAM. The launch price is also higher than the previous model’s listed starting price: $999 in the US, £999 in the UK, and AU$1,699 in Australia, according to the same review.
TechRadar lists these core specifications: a 6.3-inch, 120Hz display; 50MP main, 48MP ultrawide, and 48MP telephoto rear cameras, with 5x optical zoom; a 42MP selfie camera; a 4,850mAh battery; and 30W wired charging. Specifications and regional variants should be checked against current official product information when they are decision-critical.

How does the Pixel 11 Pro compare with the Pixel 10 Pro?
The Pixel 11 Pro is the newer phone, but the case for choosing it over a discounted Pixel 10 Pro depends on how much you value its specific additions. TechRadar says the Pixel 10 Pro nearly matches it on specifications and may offer better value when discounted. There is no controlled head-to-head test in the cited coverage that settles every camera, battery, or performance difference.

Prices in the table are launch or review-era figures, not live quotes. Compare the actual price of the storage configuration you want, rather than assuming the older model is automatically the better deal.

Is the Pixel 11 Pro worth buying?
It is most compelling when its refinements solve a real need for you. For example, the 6.3-inch format may suit someone seeking a smaller Pro phone, while Pixelsnap and Qi 2.2 matter if the buyer plans to use verified compatible magnetic accessories. The brighter-display claim and seven-year support commitment may also be relevant to buyers keeping a phone for years.
It makes more sense if you have an older phone
TechRadar says the Pixel 11 Pro may be a fine upgrade for people using phones older than the Pixel 9. Moving from an older device can make the overall improvement more meaningful than comparing only the annual changes. Whether the price works for you still depends on current offers, trade-in value, and the features you will use.

Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 owners may want to wait
TechRadar advises owners of Pixel 9 or Pixel 10 to hold off, describing this generation as closer to a software update than a hardware change. That recommendation is especially persuasive if your current phone meets your needs and you would pay close to the Pixel 11 Pro’s full price. A strong trade-in or a feature you specifically want could change the calculation.

Google’s Tensor G6 speed and efficiency figures are comparisons made by Google against Tensor G5 at launch. TechRadar’s reviewer found everyday performance adequate but said raw performance results were not a standout. If demanding workloads or benchmark performance matter more than Pixel software and features, the available evidence does not establish the Pixel 11 Pro as a performance leader.

Pixel 11 Pro alternatives to consider
Pixel 10 Pro
Consider the Pixel 10 Pro if it is substantially cheaper in the configuration you want. TechRadar says it nearly matches the new phone on specifications, but a discount is what makes its value case; compare the live price rather than relying on launch figures.
iPhone 17 Pro
TechRadar identifies the iPhone 17 Pro as an alternative for buyers willing to use iOS. It is a platform choice, not a direct like-for-like Android comparison. Consider your app, accessory, and ecosystem preferences alongside price, screen size, camera needs, and performance priorities; the cited review does not provide a controlled comparison across those factors.
