Yes. You can share a Google Nest camera’s live feed either by inviting someone to your Nest home or, for a camera managed in the Nest app, by creating a camera-only link. A home invitation gives much broader access; a camera link lets someone watch the live stream without granting home controls.
Choose how much access to give
Use a home invitation when the person should be able to use Nest products in your home. Choose a camera link when you want someone to watch one eligible camera without giving them access to the rest of the home. Google’s Nest camera sharing guidance distinguishes these options:
| Access detail | Invite someone to the home | Share a camera link |
|---|---|---|
| What they can access | Nest products throughout the home | Live video from the selected Nest app camera |
| Camera controls and settings | Can control products and change settings | Cannot control cameras |
| Recorded video history | Available when the camera has a Google Home Premium or Nest Aware subscription | Not available |
| Alerts | Can receive alerts | Not available |
| Viewer authentication | Person accepts a home invitation | Public link needs no password; password-protected link needs both the link and password |
| Camera eligibility | Shares access to the Nest home | Only cameras managed in the Nest app |
Invite someone to your Nest home
A home invitation is the broader option. Once the invitee accepts, they can see live video from all cameras in that home, receive alerts, and—if a camera has a Google Home Premium or Nest Aware subscription—view its recorded history. Google warns that home members can also access and control the home’s other Nest products, change settings, and remove products. Invite someone this way only if that level of access is appropriate.
Send the invitation through the Home app or Nest app. The recipient must accept it to gain access. Google’s Family Accounts and Nest home sharing guidance says a Nest home can be shared with up to 20 people under its listed access arrangements; that is a home-sharing limit, not the simultaneous-viewer limit for a camera link.

Share a camera-only live link
Camera-link sharing is for cameras managed in the Nest app. Google documents setting it up on a computer at home.nest.com; these steps do not apply to cameras managed only in the Google Home app.
- On a computer, sign in at home.nest.com.
- Select the camera you want to share, then open Settings.
- Choose Camera sharing.
- Choose a public link or a password-protected link, agree to share, and copy the generated link.
The generated link cannot be customized. With a public link, anyone who obtains it can watch the stream without a password. A password-protected link requires both the link and the password; Google says up to 10 people can watch that stream simultaneously. Link viewers can watch live video only: they cannot see recorded history, receive alerts, or control the camera.

Set a password if you choose protected sharing
Google’s instructions require a password of at least eight characters that includes uppercase and lowercase letters, at least one number, and at least one symbol. It must differ from your Nest app sign-in password. Google’s guidance also says, “Never share your password with anybody.” Share the camera link and its separate viewing password only with the intended viewers, using a secure channel.

Remove a home member
Remove the person from the home-member list in the app used to manage that access. Google notes that if the invitation was shared through the Home app, only a home manager using that app can remove the person.

If you do not see Camera sharing at home.nest.com, first confirm that the camera is managed in the Nest app. The documented link method is not a general-purpose sharing setting for every Google Nest camera. For broader access to a Nest home, use a home invitation instead, bearing in mind that it includes access beyond a single camera.
