If a Samsung Galaxy asks for a Google Account after a factory reset, it is usually enforcing Factory Reset Protection (FRP), called Google Device Protection in Samsung support materials. There is no supported universal bypass: to finish setup, verify ownership with a Google Account previously added and synced to the phone, use the previous screen lock if that option appears, or get help from Samsung with proof of ownership.
Why Google account verification appears after a reset
Google’s device protection is designed to deter unauthorized use after a reset. During setup, a protected Galaxy may require a Google Account that was previously added and synced to the phone. Samsung says FRP is included on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) and later, though the exact setup flow can vary by model and software version. Google explains device protection after a reset; Samsung describes Google Factory Reset Protection.
If you cannot provide the required ownership information during setup, Google warns that you may not be able to use the device after a factory reset. A further reset is not a way to clear the check.
Try the legitimate verification options
Sign in with an account previously synced to the phone
Enter the Google Account that was on the device before it was reset. If you have more than one account, use one that was added and synced to this Galaxy; a newly created account will not establish the required prior ownership.

Use the previous screen lock if setup offers it
Some Galaxy devices may offer the PIN, pattern, or password previously configured on the phone as an ownership check. Samsung says this option may be available on Android 9 and later, but it is not exposed on every model or software build. Use it only if it appears in the setup flow. Samsung’s device-protection guidance describes the version-dependent option.
If you forgot the Google Account or password
Recover the account through Google rather than guessing credentials or paying a third-party account-recovery service. If you have forgotten the email address or password, follow Google Account recovery. Google states that it does not work with services claiming to provide account or password support.

After changing the password, do not assume the new one will work immediately for Galaxy verification. Samsung support guidance for the United States and Canada describes a possible 24-hour wait after a password change before the new password can unlock the device. This is not a guaranteed timer; check Samsung’s current instructions for your country and device before retrying. When to contact Samsung
If you are the owner and cannot complete verification with the prior account or screen lock, contact Samsung support or an authorized Samsung service center. Samsung’s Canada guidance advises bringing valid proof of purchase; confirm the documentation and service process required in your location before visiting. If the Galaxy is secondhand
Ask the previous owner to complete the legitimate account removal or setup steps before you buy the phone. A reset by itself does not prove that you own the device or remove the prior owner’s verification requirement. If you already bought it, contact the seller to resolve the account verification, or ask Samsung what ownership documents it accepts in your region.

A factory reset deletes personal data, and a reset performed through recovery may lead to the same FRP verification during setup. If you are deciding whether to reset, first consider whether you have a backup and can access the Google Account previously synced to the phone.
