If Google Authenticator codes are missing or a sign-in rejects them, first choose the entry for the exact service and account, then enter a fresh code while it is current. Check that your phone’s date, time, and time zone are correct. If codes have disappeared, check which Google Account is selected in Authenticator and whether the codes were stored only on the old phone.
1. Enter a fresh code before it changes
Authenticator codes expire and refresh. If a code is close to changing, wait for the next one and enter it promptly. Avoid repeatedly submitting an old code; make sure you are using the code currently shown for the login attempt.
Google says Authenticator can generate codes without an internet connection or mobile service. A lack of connectivity alone does not prevent the app from displaying a code. Google Account Help: Get verification codes with Google Authenticator

Authenticator can hold multiple entries. Check the label and account identifier for the exact website or app you are signing into; a code for another account or a similarly named service will not verify the current login. If the service offers multiple sign-in methods, confirm that its prompt is asking for an authenticator code rather than a different verification step.

3. Check your phone’s date, time, and time zone
Make sure the device’s date and time are correct and synchronized, and that its time zone matches your location. Incorrect device time can cause time-based codes to be rejected even when you selected the right entry.
4. Follow the current time-setting guidance
Google states that Authenticator version 7.0 no longer has the in-app time-correction setting; it uses the operating system’s time setting instead. So if you are following older instructions that say to open “Time correction for codes” and tap “Sync now,” those steps do not apply to version 7.0. Correct the phone’s date, time, and time zone in its system settings. Google Account Help

- POWERFUL SECURITY KEY: The YubiKey 5C NFC is the most versatile physical passkey, protecting your digital life from phishing attacks. It ensures only you can access your accounts

- FAST & CONVENIENT LOGIN: Plug in your YubiKey 5C NFC via USB and tap it, or tap it against your phone (NFC), to authenticate. No batteries, no internet connection, and no extra fees required
- MOST SECURE PASSKEY: Supports FIDO2/WebAuthn, FIDO U2F, Yubico OTP, OATH-TOTP/HOTP, Smart card (PIV), and OpenPGP. That means it’s versatile, working almost anywhere you need it
- PRIMARY & SPARE KEYS: Just like having a spare house key, we recommend buying two YubiKeys - one for daily use and one as a spare. That way you’ll never get locked out of your accounts
5. Check the Google Account or device where the codes are stored
If entries are missing, tap the profile icon in Authenticator and check that you are signed into the Google Account where the codes were saved. Signing into a different account can make synced entries seem to have vanished.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsCodes can also be kept locally. Google documents a “Use without an account” mode that stores codes on the device rather than syncing them to other devices. If that was how you used the app, check the original phone for the entries.

6. Restore or transfer codes to a new phone
If Authenticator was signed into the Google Account that holds the codes, sign into that same account in the app on the new device; Google says the codes sync automatically. If you used Authenticator without an account, transfer the entries from the old phone instead. Google’s documented transfer uses QR code(s) exported from the old device and imported on the new one, and requires access to the old phone and the latest app version on it. Google Account Help
Do not wipe, trade in, or discard the old phone until you have confirmed that the entries appear on the new one or that account sync has restored them.

7. Use account recovery or backup codes
For a Google Account
If you cannot complete Google Account sign-in, an unused backup code may work as the second verification step. Each code becomes inactive after use. You can generate a new set, but doing so deactivates the previous set, so keep the current set somewhere accessible and secure. Google Account Help: Sign in with backup codes

For another website or app
The service you are signing into controls its authenticator enrollment and account recovery. If the checks above do not resolve a rejected code, use that service’s official recovery or support process. Google’s Authenticator guidance does not provide a universal fix for another service’s login rejecting a code.
