The best golf shot tracker for your game depends on the equipment and workflow you want: Garmin Approach CT10 pairs club sensors with a compatible Garmin golf device; Arccos combines club sensors with a phone, Arccos Air, or Apple Watch detection method; and Shot Scope V5 is specified as a GPS watch-and-tag system. No cited source establishes a controlled accuracy ranking, so choose by compatibility, on-course display, and membership terms—not a claim that one is universally best.
How golf shot trackers record your shots
These systems use different combinations of club sensors, GPS hardware, and shot-detection devices. Before choosing one, decide whether you want to wear a watch, use a phone or another detection device, and attach sensors or tags to your clubs. Those choices determine the system’s workflow and compatibility requirements.
Compare the three setups
| System | Tracking workflow | Equipment and display | Subscription information |
|---|---|---|---|
| Garmin Approach CT10 | Club sensors detect club use and communicate with a compatible GPS device to record shot location. Garmin says they can also detect putts and light chips. | Garmin’s US product page lists a 14-sensor full set and a three-sensor starter pack. A compatible Garmin golf watch is needed for the described pairing; check compatibility for the exact model. | The cited product and tracking pages do not state a subscription requirement. |
| Arccos Smart Sensors | Club sensors detect impacts and signal a selected shot-detection method. | Arccos names a phone, Arccos Air, or Apple Watch as detection options. Verify that your chosen device is supported. | Arccos support states that Game Tracking Membership renews annually at $199.99 after the first year. The first year may be free with a qualifying purchase; check current eligibility and terms. |
| Shot Scope V5 | The product specification describes a watch-and-tag setup with performance tracking. | The specification describes a GPS watch and full-hole maps. Confirm current model availability and which tags are included before buying. | The V5 specification says its app has no subscription; confirm current app terms. |
These descriptions come from official product and support material, not independent accuracy testing. They do not support a claim that one system records shots more accurately than the others.

CT10 sensors attach to golf clubs. Garmin says they detect when a club is used and communicate with a compatible GPS device to record shot location; the sensors can also detect putts and light chips. See Garmin’s Approach CT10 product page for the US set options, and Garmin’s CT10 tracking information for the described function.

This approach is a natural fit if you already use a compatible Garmin golf watch, but compatibility is model-specific. Check Garmin’s device compatibility information before purchasing; do not assume every Garmin golf watch supports every CT10 feature.
Arccos: sensors with a choice of shot-detection method
Arccos says its club sensors detect impacts and signal the selected shot-detection device. Its support page lists a phone, Arccos Air, and Apple Watch as options. The setup therefore depends on both the sensors and a supported detection method. Review Arccos’ explanation of how its sensors work and check that your chosen hardware is supported.

Shot Scope V5: GPS watch and tags
Shot Scope’s V5 specification describes a GPS watch with performance tracking, full-hole maps, and an app with no subscription. That sheet is an older product reference, not confirmation that the V5 is currently available or the newest model. Before purchase, verify the current product listing, model status, included tags, and app terms against Shot Scope’s V5 product page.

- You want GPS and hole maps on a watch: The V5 specification describes both, along with performance tracking and an app without a subscription. First confirm the model and current terms.
- You want a proven accuracy winner: The cited sources do not provide independent comparative accuracy results. Look for a controlled test that matches your needs rather than treating product descriptions as proof.
What the available evidence can—and cannot—tell you
The official pages establish how these products are described to work, some equipment requirements, and specific membership terms. They do not establish a universal best choice, a professional-player ranking, or comparative effects on scores. Treat GPS display, compatibility, workflow, and recurring cost as decision criteria, then verify volatile details with the manufacturer before purchase.
