To remove duplicates with Glary Utilities, open Duplicate Files Finder, choose the drives or folders and matching options to scan, then review each result group before selecting files to delete. Glarysoft says checked files go to the Recycle Bin by default, so you choose which copies are removed rather than relying on a one-click cleanup.
Choose what Duplicate Files Finder should scan

Open Glary Utilities and select Duplicate Files Finder.

Choose Scan for duplicate files to open the scanning wizard.

Select the drives or folders relevant to your cleanup, then continue. A scan may take some time.

Choose whether to scan all files or limit the scan to listed file types. The parameter settings include criteria for file type, name, size, and creation date.

Use the exclusion-list controls to add folders you do not want scanned. Continue and let the scan finish.

Limiting the scan to relevant locations and file types can make the results easier to review. Glarysoft’s instructions do not specify the exact algorithm used to identify duplicate contents, so do not assume that a matching filename alone establishes that two files are interchangeable.
Review duplicate groups before deleting anything
Results are grouped. Select a result and compare its path, name, size, modified date, and file state. If the distinction is not clear, preview a picture or open the file with its associated program.

Decide which copy you intend to keep, taking its location and intended use into account.

Check only the copies you want removed. A same-named file in another folder may be needed there, even if another copy exists.

Check Intelligent can check groups in bulk, with options involving originals, size, and date. Treat it as a selection aid: review what it checks before deleting.

Delete the selected copies
When you have reviewed the selection, click Delete checked files. Glarysoft’s Knowledge Base says the default is to send deleted files to the Recycle Bin. That is not the same as permanent deletion, but recovery is not guaranteed if the Recycle Bin is emptied or the files are otherwise removed.

Check the version and product before following instructions
Glarysoft lists Duplicate Files Finder as a module in Glary Utilities. Its separate product, Glary Duplicate Cleaner, is not the same tool and should not be confused with the module described here.
Glarysoft’s official version listings conflict: its download page displayed Glary Utilities 6.47.0.51 with an August 31, 2026 release date, while its Download Center displayed version 6.48 without a captured release date. Check the current listing on the Glary Utilities download page rather than assuming either number is definitive. The page lists Windows support; its older Windows entries should not be read as a recommendation to use unsupported Windows releases.
