Alessia Vigilia of Uno-X Mobility won the 2026 Giro dell’Emilia Internazionale Donne Elite, breaking clear to finish solo in Bologna. Sarah Van Dam was five seconds back in second, with Lauren Dickson third at 14 seconds.
How Vigilia won the Giro dell’Emilia Donne
Vigilia broke away from the field and held on for a solo finish on Bologna’s San Luca climb. The two race reports describe the timing of her move differently, so the precise point in the race when she attacked is not established. Cyclingnews characterized the victory as a surprise breakaway win; Team Visma | Lease a Bike also reported that she went clear and stayed ahead of Van Dam.
The 2026 race covered 111.3 km from Ferrara to Bologna, according to Cyclingnews. The route was largely flat before the finish, with the San Luca climb and two laps of Bologna’s local circuit forming the decisive closing section.
