The GigaPlus GP-S25-2402 is a fanless, unmanaged 1U switch that combines 24 2.5GbE copper ports with two 10G SFP+ uplinks. It is a promising fit for a home lab or small office with many faster-than-gigabit devices, but it is not the right choice if you need configurable VLANs or switch monitoring. GigaPlus listed it at $279.99 USD and marked it sold out when its product page was checked; availability and price can change.
What you get
The headline feature is port density: 24 RJ45 ports that adapt to 10, 100, 1000, or 2500Mbps, plus two separate SFP+ ports rated for 10G. That gives you a way to connect many 2.5GbE endpoints while reserving the SFP+ ports for faster links, such as connections to a server, NAS, or another switch. Those links require compatible SFP+ transceivers or DAC/fiber cabling; GigaPlus does not publish a compatibility matrix in the reviewed product information.
GigaPlus positions the switch for dense home labs, NAS networks, Wi-Fi 6 access points, gaming PCs, and small offices. The practical benefit is most apparent when several devices can use 2.5GbE at once, rather than in a network where nearly every endpoint is still gigabit.

#1 Best Overall
- 🌐4*2.5G Ultra-Fast Network Speed: the network switch includes 4*100/1000/2500Mbps RJ45 Ethernet ports, 2*10G uplink SFP port, ports 1-4 comply with the IEEE802.3bz (2.5G) standard, support 10/100/1000M/2.5G self-adaptation, and 60Gbps switching capacity to meet the needs of high speed network requirements.
- 🌐Plug and Play: Unmanaged Plug and Play with automatic MDI/MDIX and non-blocking data forwarding support, and 10/100/1000M/2.5G adaptive support on ports 1-4 for speeds up to 2.5 times faster than existing 1G networks. Easily set up without any configuration or software to provide optimal performance for all your devices.
- 🌐Wide Range of Applications: The Ethernet switch is highly compatible with 2.5G NAS, 4K video, gaming PCs, 2.5G servers, 2.5G WiFi6 APs, and 2.5G PCIe adapters, which can meet the needs of various network environments and is suitable for shopping malls, schools, hospitals, hotels, and small and medium-sized enterprises.
- 🌐Stable and Quiet: Rugged metal casing and 4KV lightning protection design make this 2.5G network switch safe to use in a variety of environments. The fanless design reduces power consumption, keeps it quiet, and ensures good heat dissipation and stability of the device.
- 🌐Customer Service: Each GigaPlus 2.5G network switch has been rigorously tested for reliability, quality, and performance. We provide lifetime technical support for the entire product.
Is the GP-S25-2402 managed?
No. GigaPlus markets it as plug-and-play and says it needs no configuration software. Treat it as an unmanaged switch: the published “4096” VLAN value is not evidence of a user-facing VLAN setup interface. If you need to create or assign VLANs, inspect port statistics, or change switch behavior through a management interface, choose a managed model instead.
Noise, rack fit, and construction
ServeTheHome’s January 31, 2026 teardown describes a full 1U metal chassis with rack ears, an internal power supply, and no internal fan. The reviewer reports that the ears fit a standard 19-inch rack. The fanless design avoids switch-fan noise, although the available sources do not provide an acoustic measurement or establish how warm the unit runs in a particular installation.

- LIFETIME PROTECTION -We stand by the quality of our products. The TEG-S25 24-Port Gigabit Switch is secured with Lifetime Manufacturer Protection from TRENDnet. (U.S. and Canada Only)
- NDAA + TAA COMPLIANT: With our NDAA and TAA compliant network switches, you can plan and install networking solutions that Government customers demand today (U.S. and Canada Only)
- RELIABLE TECH SUPPORT: Our team of advisors, support and tech experts are English speaking, and available for all your needs during normal business hours. We take pride in being there for our customers.
- SWITCHING CAPACITY: This 24-port gigabit switch has a 48Gbps switching capacity with a forwarding rate of 35.71Mpps(64-byte packet size)
The teardown identifies a Realtek RTL9302D switch chip and glued heatsinks over the 2.5GbE PHYs. The reviewer also notes that the status LEDs are set away from the ports, a personal preference issue that may make it less immediate to associate an indicator with a cable.

A good match
- You need more than a handful of 2.5GbE ports for PCs, access points, servers, or storage.
- You want two 10G SFP+ ports for uplinks and are prepared to source compatible transceivers or cables.
- You prefer an unmanaged, plug-and-play device and do not need VLAN configuration or monitoring controls.
- You want a fanless unit with a 1U rack form factor and internal AC power supply.
Look elsewhere if
- You need managed features such as configurable VLANs, monitoring, or port-level controls.
- You need verified SFP+ module compatibility before buying; the reviewed material does not identify a supported module list.
- You require independent throughput, power-consumption, acoustics, or long-term reliability results. Those measurements are not established by the product specifications or the cited teardown.
Verdict
The GP-S25-2402’s case is straightforward: 24 multigigabit copper ports, two 10G SFP+ uplinks, and a fanless rack-ready chassis in an unmanaged design. That combination makes it worth considering for a dense 2.5GbE network, provided you do not mistake the listed VLAN count for manageable VLAN support. The $279.99 USD figure is the price GigaPlus displayed when checked, not a confirmed current street price, and the page was then marked sold out. ServeTheHome’s teardown supports the physical-design claims, but it is not an independent throughput or reliability test.
Quick Recap
Rank #3
- Connect up to 24 wired devices through RJ45 10/100/1000 Mbps ports with auto-sensing speed detection and NWay auto-negotiation. Auto-MDIX supports automatic uplink detection, while the 48 Gbps switch fabric handles network traffic.
- Install the switch in a standard 19-inch rack using the included brackets, or place it on a desktop with its metal housing. The 7.09 x 11.02 x 1.73-inch design fits common network cabinets and workspaces.
- Operate a quieter network setup with the fanless design, which eliminates fan noise during use. IEEE 802.3x flow control supports full-duplex traffic, while collision-based backpressure supports half-duplex operation.
- Reduce network power use with IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet and Green Ethernet technology. The switch deactivates unused ports and adjusts power levels according to cable length for connected devices.
- Use store-and-forward switching with support for jumbo frames up to 9 kB, a 16,384-entry MAC address table, and 512 kB of buffer memory. MAC address auto-learning and auto-aging help manage connected network devices.
