The Ghost of Tsushima: Legends anime is now reported to be scheduled for 2028, one year later than the 2027 premiere window announced in January 2025. The October 8 update also names voice performers Mayumi Saco and Shinya Fukumatsu, plus several new staff members. Their character roles and an exact premiere date have not been reported.
When does the Ghost of Tsushima: Legends anime come out?
The latest schedule reported by MANTANWEB on October 8, 2026, following a Crunchyroll showcase at New York Comic Con, is 2028. The report gives no month, season, or day. The original January 2025 announcement had set a 2027 exclusive premiere window, so the newly reported year represents a one-year change from that target.

The October schedule comes from media coverage of the showcase; an official October announcement from the production partners was not located. It is therefore best described as the latest reported schedule, not a precisely dated or independently confirmed premiere.
Who is in the announced cast and staff?
MANTANWEB’s October report names Mayumi Saco and Shinya Fukumatsu as cast members but does not say which characters they will voice. It also adds music, sound, effects, and Japanese title lettering credits to the previously reported creative team.

The October credit list names Satoshi Maejima for script work. A July 2026 Crunchyroll update had described Gen Urobuchi co-writing the script with Renji Oki. The available updates do not establish whether Oki’s contribution was replaced, revised, or remains elsewhere in the production.
What is the anime adapting?
The series is based on Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, the cooperative multiplayer mode associated with Sucker Punch Productions’ Ghost of Tsushima—not simply a retelling of the single-player campaign. The January 2025 announcement describes Legends as inspired by Japanese folktales and mythology. It also names Aniplex as a collaborator, Sony Music as a music and soundtrack partner, and Crunchyroll as the exclusive premiere platform.

Where will the anime stream?
Crunchyroll was named as the exclusive premiere platform in the official January 2025 announcement. That makes it the announced future streaming home, but the series is not available to watch yet. The announcement does not provide current availability details or a more specific 2028 launch date.
Why was the premiere moved from 2027?
No reason for the schedule change is given in the available reports. The 2027 window appeared in the January 2025 announcement; the 2028 schedule was reported after the October 2026 NYCC showcase. Without an explanation from the production partners, attributing the change to production, scheduling, or any other cause would be speculation.
