To use Windows 11’s built-in multi-touch gesture controls with an Apple Magic Trackpad, Windows must recognize it through a compatible Precision Touchpad driver. Apple documents that native Precision Touchpad support through Boot Camp is available on supported Intel-based Macs with the Apple T2 Security Chip; connecting the trackpad to another Windows PC does not automatically enable Windows’ native controls. If the native settings are unavailable, Boot Camp Control Panel or a third-party driver are separate options.
First check whether Windows recognizes a Precision Touchpad
A working pointer or basic clicks do not prove that Windows has enabled its native touchpad gestures. Microsoft notes that some gestures work only with Precision Touchpads. On a Mac running Windows through Boot Camp, open Windows Settings and go to the Touchpad page. Apple says the message “Your PC has a precision touchpad” indicates that Precision Touchpad settings are available.
Apple’s documented native-driver route applies to supported Intel-based Macs with the Apple T2 Security Chip. If the message is missing, check whether your Mac meets Apple’s compatibility condition and whether its Boot Camp support software is current. Apple also advises using Boot Camp Control Panel to configure the trackpad options available when the Precision Touchpad settings are not exposed. Set up gestures in Windows’ native settings
If Windows shows the Precision Touchpad message, use the Touchpad page in Settings to review and customize the available gesture actions. The exact controls can depend on the device and Windows configuration. Microsoft documents these gesture types for Windows:

- Three fingers: Swipe to show open windows, show the desktop, or switch between apps, depending on the selected action.

If native settings are missing, choose the route that fits your PC

Boot Camp Mac
If you are using Windows on an Intel Mac, start with Apple’s supported-device condition and the Precision Touchpad message. If the native settings do not appear, check Boot Camp support software and use Boot Camp Control Panel for whatever trackpad controls it provides. Do not assume that every Mac model or every Magic Trackpad connection will expose Windows’ native settings.

Separate Windows PC
For a Windows PC that is not using Boot Camp, Magic Utilities advertises a third-party driver for Apple input devices, including Magic Trackpad, with Windows 10/11 support and Bluetooth and USB operation. Its feature descriptions include Windows desktop and Task View navigation. These are the vendor’s documented capabilities, not a Microsoft guarantee that its driver behaves identically to native Precision Touchpad support. Review the vendor’s Magic Trackpad feature information and gesture descriptions for the device and connection you plan to use.

Check connection and driver conflicts before changing drivers
For Bluetooth use, Magic Utilities says the PC needs a compatible Bluetooth adapter and driver. A trackpad that will not pair or stay connected may therefore have a wireless-adapter or driver issue rather than a gesture-settings issue.

Also identify which trackpad driver is already installed before adding another. Magic Utilities warns that Mac Precision Touchpad drivers can conflict with its driver, particularly when Magic Trackpad 2 is connected over Bluetooth. Its troubleshooting guidance describes removing the conflicting driver, restarting, and reinstalling its own driver. Follow the vendor’s instructions for your specific device and setup rather than stacking drivers or removing software at random. See its driver-conflict guidance.
