GET Resume-AI is a free online resume optimizer that its creator says tailors a resume to a specific job description. Gaurav Jain introduced it as a tool to check keyword matching, ATS compatibility, bullet-point strength, skills gaps, and overall impact. Those are the creator’s product claims, not independently verified results.
What GET Resume-AI says it does
In a DEV Community post published September 28, 2026, Jain described building the tool after repeated ATS rejections. The post frames GET Resume-AI as a way to compare a resume with a target job description and identify potential improvements. Jain says its checks cover:
- Keyword matching between the resume and job description
- ATS compatibility
- Weak versus strong resume bullets
- Skills gaps
- Overall resume impact
The post is a product announcement and request for feedback, not an independent evaluation. It does not establish how accurately the tool performs these checks or whether using it changes hiring outcomes. Read the announcement on DEV Community.

Jain identified GET Resume-AI as an MVP and said several areas were still being worked on at the time of the post. These included account settings, pre-built resume templates, and history tracking. The post also mentioned Razorpay for payments in India and a planned DODO integration for international payments, while explicitly saying DODO was not live yet. These are disclosures from the September 28, 2026 announcement, not a current independent check of the product’s features or payment flows.

What an ATS score can—and cannot—tell you
Employers may use software to score applicants’ resumes, but that does not mean every applicant tracking system ranks candidates or that every rejection is automated. In a May 12, 2022 technical-assistance announcement, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Department of Justice said, “Many of these tools use algorithms or AI,” and warned that employment tools can create disability-discrimination risks under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Read the EEOC and DOJ announcement.
A third-party resume scanner can offer a diagnostic comparison, not a view into an employer’s actual system. Jobscan, for example, describes its scanner as comparing a resume with a job description and returning a match rate, missing keywords, and formatting feedback. Its own product page says the match rate is a visualization tool, not the employer’s ATS score. That is the vendor’s description of its scanner, not independent evidence about hiring results. See Jobscan’s product page.
How to use a resume scorer without over-trusting it
- Start with the job description. Use the specific role you intend to apply for; a generic scan cannot assess fit against that role’s stated requirements.
- Review suggestions individually. Add a keyword or skill only if it accurately describes your experience. A score is not a reason to claim qualifications you do not have.
- Check formatting and readability. Treat any parsing or layout warnings as prompts to inspect the document, while ensuring it remains clear to a human reader.
- Make bullets specific and truthful. A stronger bullet can clarify your contribution and result, but should not exaggerate responsibility or invent metrics.
- Protect your personal information. GET Resume-AI’s privacy handling is not established by the announcement, so review the service’s current privacy terms before uploading a resume containing contact details or employment history.
What remains unknown about GET Resume-AI
The announcement does not independently verify the tool’s live behavior, accuracy, privacy practices, or effect on hiring outcomes. It also does not demonstrate that an employer’s ATS will evaluate a resume the same way the scorer does. Consider the service a potentially useful editing aid if its current features suit your needs, rather than a guarantee of passing an automated screen.
