Douglasville police reportedly said Abdul Rasheed called 911 from a Red Lobster on September 24, 2026, and later alleged he did so to avoid paying for dinner. The allegation has not been established in court in the reporting reviewed. Local outlets also differ on the bill amount and the number of charges reported.
What police reportedly said happened
WSB-TV reported on September 30, 2026, that Douglasville police said 26-year-old Abdul Rasheed called 911 from a Red Lobster on Highway 5 in Douglasville on September 24. According to the station, police said he was okay and alleged the call was an attempt to avoid paying for dinner. That is a reported police allegation, not a proven account of his motive. WSB-TV

What the reports say about the bill and charges
The two September 30 reports do not match on every detail. WSB-TV put the bill at $63 and said Rasheed was charged with theft of services, unlawful conduct during a 911 call, and making a false report. WSB-TV

Arrest is not a court outcome
WSB-TV reported Rasheed was arrested and booked into Douglas County Jail. The reviewed reports document an arrest and allegations, not a later court disposition. They do not establish a conviction or whether the case has since been resolved.
