Act 4 has 41 reported collectibles across six chapters: Hope and Ruin (13), Technical Difficulties (2), Tough as Nails (14), Signals (5), Paths Diverge (2), and Critical Failure (5). This spoiler-aware route follows that chapter order and flags the train-stop pickup and optional content most likely to be missed. Counts and locations below are reported by two guides published October 3, 2026, not an official Xbox checklist. TechWiser and GamersBeacon agree on the chapter totals and broad route; some fine-grained landmark descriptions differ.
Act 4 collectible count by chapter
| Chapter | Reported collectibles | Route warning |
|---|---|---|
| Hope and Ruin | 13 | Check the hotel, market, university, and Opera House route as you advance. |
| Technical Difficulties | 2 | Search the train stop before the train leaves. |
| Tough as Nails | 14 | Complete optional routes and side objectives before moving on. |
| Signals | 5 | Check the gas station, bridge, tower, and exit route. |
| Paths Diverge | 2 | One set of tags is near the start; the other is later on the way to the reactor. |
| Critical Failure | 5 | Find the final journal before triggering the boss encounter. |
| Total | 41 | Use the War Journal to verify chapter progress. |
The sequence below is designed to keep each chapter’s sweep together. The location labels are guide-reported landmarks; where exact wording varies between guides, use the named area and check the War Journal rather than relying on an unsupported exact position.
Chapter 1: Hope and Ruin — 13 collectibles
Sweep the opening memorial and bridge, then continue through the hotel, cathedral and truck route, plaza, market, university, souvenir shop, and Opera House approach. The two guides place the 13 items across those landmarks.

- COG Tags of Sergeant Aman Landry — search the train stop as soon as you can leave the train.
- Graffitied Poster (listed as “No. 80” in one guide) — go back along the tracks into the tunnel to find it.
Do not leave the stop thinking both items are safely available later: the tags are the one the guides explicitly mark as time-sensitive. Check that the War Journal records 2 of 2 before continuing.

How to check whether you missed one
Open the War Journal and check the collectible count for the current chapter. Compare it with the chapter totals above before crossing a one-way story transition, particularly after optional content and at the train stop. If the count is short, revisit the named route landmarks while they remain accessible; the journal count confirms progress but does not replace a location search.
