Why are GCCs part of Telangana’s investment strategy?
GCCs—Global Capability Centres, where companies locate functions such as technology, engineering, product development, or research and development—fit Telangana’s stated ambition to build an innovation-intensive economy. United News of India reported in September 2026 that Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju expected the summit to cover around 25 industry verticals. The report named IT, GCCs, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, data centres, life sciences, food processing, medical tourism, infrastructure, and real estate among the sectors being considered. This is reported planning context, not a detailed official agenda or a ranking of sector prominence. United News of India report.
The available information supports treating GCCs as one part of a broad investment conversation, not as the confirmed centerpiece. It does not establish GCC-specific investment commitments, employment targets, or summit outcomes.

The state announcement describes Defence Expo-2026 as part of the summit and says Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy invited Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to attend and inaugurate it. An invitation does not confirm attendance. The announcement associates the expo with:
- A dedicated Aerospace, Defence & Space conference
- An air show
- An industrial exhibition
- Live demonstrations of land-based defence systems
