The Garmin Venu 2 Plus is a fitness-focused smartwatch whose main “Plus” addition is phone-linked calling and voice-assistant access from the wrist. It is not an independently cellular watch: calling and voice functions depend on a compatible smartphone paired over Bluetooth. Garmin’s published battery estimates range from up to nine days in smartwatch mode to up to eight hours with GPS and music, so the headline figure does not describe every way of using it.
What the Garmin Venu 2 Plus offers
Garmin lists a 43 mm case with a stainless-steel bezel, fiber-reinforced polymer case, and a 1.3-inch AMOLED touchscreen at 416 × 416 pixels protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The listed weight is 51 g. The watch is rated 5 ATM for swimming and uses standard 20 mm quick-release bands. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements. Garmin’s U.S. product listing and its specifications provide the details.
For fitness and everyday tracking, Garmin advertises more than 25 built-in indoor and GPS sports apps, animated workouts, built-in music storage, and Garmin Pay. Health-related features include wrist-based heart-rate monitoring, sleep score and insights, stress and respiration tracking, Pulse Ox, hydration tracking, women’s health tracking, and Body Battery. These are wellness and activity features; their presence does not establish clinical accuracy or make the watch a medical device.

Yes, when it is connected to a compatible smartphone. The watch has a microphone and speaker, and Garmin says it can make and receive calls and access the paired phone’s voice assistant, including Siri, Google Assistant, or Bixby. The phone must be connected by Bluetooth; the cited Garmin materials do not describe cellular service built into the watch. Garmin also cautions that some smartphones do not support voice functions, so check Garmin’s voice-functionality compatibility guidance for your handset before buying.

- Never miss a call, text or social media alert from your paired Apple or Android smartphone with smart notifications delivered right to your wrist
Notification features depend on the phone’s operating system. Garmin’s owner manual says quick replies to text-message notifications are available only with Android; the phone sends the reply, and normal carrier limits or charges may apply. Notification actions can vary by operating system. See the Venu 2 Plus Owner’s Manual for setup and operating details.
How long does the battery last?
Garmin’s estimates depend on the mode. Its product materials and owner manual give these maximum figures:

These are Garmin-published estimates, not independently measured results or guaranteed runtimes. Garmin says actual battery life varies with settings and use, including activity tracking, wrist heart rate, notifications, GPS, and connected sensors. Garmin’s Australia support information describes assumptions behind its estimates, including five voice-assistance or phone-call uses per day; that is a test assumption, not a prediction of how long an individual owner’s watch will last. Garmin’s materials describe phone-linked features for compatible smartphones, including access to Siri, Google Assistant, or Bixby, but they do not establish handset-by-handset support for every feature. In particular, Garmin says some phones do not support voice functionality, and message quick replies are Android-only. Confirm compatibility for your exact phone in Garmin’s voice-functionality guidance rather than assuming that all smart features behave the same on iPhone and Android.

Fit, bands, and day-to-day use
The 43 mm case and 51 g listed weight are worth considering if you prefer smaller or lighter watches. For replacement or style straps, the manual specifies standard 20 mm quick-release bands. Check that a band listing explicitly says it fits the Venu 2 Plus; matching width alone does not confirm that every strap or connector will fit properly.
Is the Venu 2 Plus a good buy?
It is a sensible candidate if you want a touchscreen Garmin with a broad advertised fitness feature set and specifically value answering calls or using a phone assistant from the watch. Its appeal is weaker if you need cellular calling without your phone nearby, expect message quick replies on iPhone, or need long GPS workouts with music between charges. Those trade-offs follow from Garmin’s connection requirements and battery estimates.
Garmin announced the Venu 2 Plus on January 4, 2022, at a U.S. suggested retail price of $449.99. That figure is the historical launch MSRP, not a current price. Current price, stock, and condition vary by seller and listing; verify those details before purchasing the watch.
