Garmin says its Enduro 4 can last up to 90 days in smartwatch mode or up to 320 hours—about 13 days—in an extended-battery activity mode, when specified solar conditions are met. Apple rates Apple Watch Ultra 4 for up to 50 hours of normal use or 45 hours in Max Extended Workout. Those figures make Garmin’s endurance claim striking, but they are manufacturer estimates for different modes and conditions, not results from a controlled head-to-head test.
How Enduro 4 and Ultra 4 battery claims compare
The fairest way to read the specifications is to compare everyday use with everyday use, and workout tracking with workout tracking. Even across those broad categories, Garmin and Apple do not publish a shared test protocol.

In rough arithmetic, Garmin’s listed maxima are longer: 90 days versus 50 hours for the everyday-use figures, and 320 hours versus 45 hours for the longest listed workout or activity figures. Those ratios are not controlled comparisons. Garmin’s 90-day estimate depends on daily solar exposure, while its 320-hour figure uses an extended-battery setting and continuous solar conditions. Apple’s figures describe its own use and workout modes.
What Garmin’s solar assumptions mean
The headline battery claims are conditional rather than guarantees for every wearer. Garmin’s 90-day smartwatch-mode estimate assumes all-day wear plus three hours outdoors each day in 50,000 lux. Its 320-hour activity-mode estimate assumes 50,000 lux during continuous activity use for the whole period, with the extended-battery activity setting selected. Garmin’s announcement does not establish that a typical user will receive those amounts of sunlight or reach either maximum.

For a buyer, the practical question is whether the intended routine can approximate those assumptions. Frequent indoor use, limited daylight exposure, or a different activity configuration may produce a different result; the cited manufacturer figures do not quantify that difference.
What Enduro 4 offers beyond battery life
Garmin positions Enduro 4 as a GPS smartwatch for long-duration outdoor activity. Its announced specifications and features include a 1.4-inch MIP display with a solar lens, 51 mm case, 66 g weight, 10 ATM water resistance and 64 GB of memory. Garmin also lists more than 100 activity profiles, built-in routable maps, grade-adjusted pace tools, stamina zones and curve, and Garmin Epic multiday activity logging. It includes a white-and-red LED flashlight and a ComfortFit Fabric Band with QuickFit functionality. These are manufacturer specifications and feature claims, not independent evaluations.

Apple’s Ultra 4 announcement highlights a different set of features, including the Health Sensing System, S11 chip and readiness feature, alongside its battery figures. Battery duration alone does not establish which watch is the better fit: the choice also depends on the activities, features and device ecosystem a buyer wants.

Garmin announced Enduro 4 availability on October 6, 2026, at a suggested retail price of $899.99. That is Garmin’s suggested retail price, not a claim about current prices at individual retailers. The cited Apple sources provide the Ultra 4 battery figures and product context; they do not establish a comparable price here.

How to interpret the “laps” claim
Enduro 4’s published maximums greatly exceed Ultra 4’s published figures in their respective stated modes, which supports the broad endurance framing. But “laps” should not be read as a measured real-world multiplier: Garmin’s and Apple’s estimates use different assumptions, and the available specifications are not side-by-side test results. For an expected-use comparison, focus on the mode that matches your routine and account for Garmin’s required solar exposure.
