If you want games like Silver Pines, start with SIGNALIS for scarce supplies, puzzles, and psychological horror, or Crow Country for retro survival-horror exploration and an optional no-combat mode. Neither official listing reviewed here establishes Metroidvania-style gated progression, so they are close matches for particular parts of Silver Pines, not confirmed examples of its full combination.

What makes Silver Pines a distinct kind of horror game?

Team17 describes Silver Pines as “A love letter to classic survival horror.” Its October 23, 2025 announcement introduces private investigator Red Walker, who searches for missing musician Eddie Velvet in a partly abandoned town. The publisher’s pitch combines scavenging and puzzle solving with locked doors and hidden paths that become accessible as Walker acquires better tools and weapons. That route-opening structure is the Metroidvania-like element: exploring, finding a way past a barrier, then gaining access to more of the town. Team17’s announcement and the official Silver Pines site also promote a Steam demo.

Steam lists October 8, 2026 as the release date, with Wych Elm as developer and Team17 as publisher. Team17’s announcement names Steam, Epic Games Store, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PS5; a GamesRadar+ review dated October 6, 2026 lists PC, PS5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch 2, and Nintendo Switch. Because store, region, and platform naming can differ, check the relevant storefront for current availability.

Which games are closest to Silver Pines?

Game What it shares with Silver Pines What the reviewed source does not establish
SIGNALIS Scarce resources, challenging riddles, exploration, and psychological survival-horror atmosphere. Metroidvania-style gated map progression.
Crow Country Retro survival-horror mood, exploration, puzzles, and an optional mode without combat. The same scarcity emphasis or Metroidvania progression.
Resident Evil and Silent Hill Franchise reference points used in a review’s framing of Silver Pines. Specific entries or features suitable for a detailed recommendation.

SIGNALIS: the strongest match for scarcity and psychological horror

Nintendo describes SIGNALIS as classic psychological survival horror, with scarce resources, challenging riddles, and exploration through a derelict spaceship and doomed facility. Those details make it a strong pick if what you want from Silver Pines is pressure around supplies, puzzle solving, and a bleak atmosphere. Nintendo’s listing identifies a Nintendo Switch Game Card edition. The listing does not establish the tool- and weapon-gated town exploration pitched for Silver Pines, so think of SIGNALIS as a match for survival-horror systems and tone rather than a verified Metroidvania equivalent.

Crow Country: retro horror exploration with less combat pressure

PlayStation’s Crow Country page describes an experience drawing on PlayStation-era survival-horror games, with an eerie environment, puzzles, characters, and monsters. It also lists an Exploration Mode, which lets players experience the atmosphere and unfolding story without combat. Choose it if you want puzzle-led horror exploration or prefer to reduce combat pressure. The official listing does not establish the same resource-scarcity focus or gated map progression as Silver Pines.

Resident Evil and Silent Hill: reference points, not specific picks here

A GamesRadar+ review of Silver Pines, published October 6, 2026, frames it through Resident Evil and Silent Hill comparisons while discussing locked routes, inventory management, and return visits. Those franchises help describe the intended blend, but that review alone is not enough to recommend a particular installment or make detailed claims about either series.

How to choose by the part of Silver Pines you want

  • Want scarce supplies, puzzles, and psychological atmosphere? Try SIGNALIS; the official Nintendo listing supports those similarities, not Metroidvania progression.
  • Want retro survival-horror exploration with an option to avoid combat? Try Crow Country and its listed Exploration Mode.
  • Most interested in unlocking routes and revisiting places with new tools? That is central to Team17’s stated pitch for Silver Pines. The reviewed listings for SIGNALIS and Crow Country do not verify the same structure.

These comparisons cover different axes—resource pressure, puzzles, progression, mood, and combat—and the available official descriptions do not provide a complete, like-for-like feature comparison for every game.
