If you’re looking for games like Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood while following 1666: Amsterdam, the key is to decide what you want to match: historical-city exploration, stealth and parkour, or an assassin-led story. One important update: 1666: Amsterdam is no longer simply a game to wait for. Panache currently lists it in Early Access for PC on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Its supernatural investigation premise is quite different from Ezio’s fight against the Templars in Rome.
What does “like Brotherhood” mean here?
Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood sends Ezio to Rome to strike at the Templar order and lead an Assassin brotherhood, according to Ubisoft. Steam’s listing tags it as an action-adventure and historical game, with stealth and parkour among its tags: Steam.
Those are separate reasons a game might feel similar. A title can share a historical setting without matching Brotherhood’s movement, or feature stealth without Ezio’s particular story and leadership role. For a useful recommendation, name the quality being matched rather than treating a broad action-adventure label as proof of a close fit.

- Historical atmosphere: another period setting or carefully depicted city.
- Stealth and traversal: sneaking and parkour, rather than action alone.
- Assassin-led narrative: a protagonist and conflict that resemble Ezio’s war with the Templars.
- Scope and tone: how open the world is, and whether the experience is historical or supernatural.
What is 1666: Amsterdam, and can you play it now?
Panache describes 1666: Amsterdam as a dark, story-led, third-person action-adventure. You play Noa, the Collector, using witchcraft to uncover demonic entities. The studio’s hook is “Investigate by day. Face your demons at night.” The official page lists the game as available in Early Access for PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store: Panache.

That makes it a supernatural companion to Brotherhood, not an Assassin’s Creed entry or a direct Ezio-style substitute. If you are waiting for the game’s fuller development, the Early Access version is available now; check its store page for current edition details.

What to expect from 1666’s Early Access version
In its Early Access preview, GamesRadar+ reviewer Jasmine Gould-Wilson described the combat as rough. That is a dated review impression, not a guarantee of how the game will feel in a later update. The same review describes a district-based city rather than a full open world, so readers expecting Brotherhood’s broad city-roaming structure should not assume the two games share that scope.

Panache co-founder Patrice Désilets told GamesRadar+ that the studio’s vision was to build the game with its community, with players reporting what works and surprising the team in turn. That preview context helps explain why the Early Access experience may change; it does not establish a release date for a fuller version.

- Pick the feature you miss most. If it is Rome’s historical atmosphere, look for a game whose own official description supports its period and setting. If it is stealth and parkour, verify those mechanics rather than relying on a general action label.
- Check the story match separately. A historical setting does not automatically mean an assassin-versus-order plot, and supernatural investigation is a different premise from Ezio’s conflict with the Templars.
- Check the world’s scope and tone. Look for descriptions or reviews that specify whether a game offers an open city, districts, or a more contained structure, and whether its tone is historical or supernatural.
- Confirm platform and edition before buying. Availability differs by game and can change. The Panache page lists 1666: Amsterdam for PC via Steam and Epic Games Store; check each other title’s current official store listing for its platforms and edition.
Why there is no one-size-fits-all closest match
The available official descriptions establish Brotherhood’s Rome, Ezio, and Templar conflict, and 1666’s witchcraft-led supernatural investigation. Steam supplies Brotherhood’s tags, while the Early Access review offers a qualified impression of 1666’s combat and city structure. Those details make clear what to compare, but they do not establish a sourced title-by-title shortlist of other games. A recommendation should therefore be tied to evidence for the particular similarity it claims, not presented as a verified overall match.
