Between September 22 and October 6, 2026, game milestones ranged from a new Steam concurrency record for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to sales, wishlist, and download figures across PC, console, and mobile. The figures below are reported in Dmitriy Byshonkov’s October 6 GameDev Reports roundup; they use different measures and time windows, so they are not directly comparable.

Player activity and wishlists

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt sets a Steam peak

The roundup reports that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt reached 137,724 concurrent players on Steam, surpassing its previous peak of 103,329 from January 2020. It links the Steam figure to SteamDB. Concurrency is the number of players online at the same time, not the number who played during a day.

Separately, the roundup attributes to Alinea Analytics an estimate of 2.38 million daily users across Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox after the remaster’s release, described as 10 times the game’s 2026 average. It also reports 130,000 copies sold in one day. These cross-platform daily-user and sales figures are distinct from the Steam concurrent-player peak.

Control Resonant passes two million wishlists

Control Resonant had more than 2 million wishlists across platforms, according to the roundup, which links the claim to Steam. It says the game launched September 24 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Sales milestones

Wardogs sells more than three million copies in Early Access

The roundup reports that Wardogs sold more than 3 million copies in 16 days of Early Access. It also says the game reached its first million players within a day of its September 10 Steam launch and its second million within a week. Copies sold and players reached are different measures; the article links its account to GamesBeat.

Graveyard Keeper 2 records a strong opening

Graveyard Keeper 2 sold 400,000 copies across platforms during its first two days after release, according to the roundup, which links the launch figure to Steam. Separately, it reports 190,000 Steam preorders and $3 million in gross revenue before launch, citing a social post. The preorder and prelaunch revenue figures should not be conflated with the two-day, cross-platform sales total.

TMNT: Splintered Fate tops 1.5 million copies

The roundup reports more than 1.5 million copies sold for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate, or 2.6 million when DLC is counted. It links a sales pickup to the free King’s Gambit update released in mid-August; that reported association does not establish that the update caused the increase.

Metro series passes 50 million copies

The Metro franchise surpassed 50 million total copies sold over 16 years, the roundup reports, citing Deep Silver. It also lists free next-generation updates for Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux: October 22 for PC and October 29 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. Those are the dates reported in the October 6 roundup.

Revenue and downloads

Meltopia: founder-reported Steam figures

The roundup attributes to the studio founder $456,900 in gross Steam revenue and 89,500 copies sold in almost five months. It gives an estimate of about $263,900 remaining after regional taxes (8.5%), refunds (9%), and Steam’s commission (30%). This is the founder’s reported estimate after those stated deductions, not an independently audited net-revenue figure.

Hunting Rivals reports downloads, revenue, and monthly users

The roundup reports more than 3 million downloads and revenue above $3 million for Hunting Rivals, alongside 1 million monthly active users. It says the game launched May 14, 2026, and links these figures to MY.GAMES. Downloads, revenue, and monthly active users describe different aspects of a game’s reach and performance.

How to read these milestones

  • Copies sold count transactions reported for a stated period or lifetime; they are not the same as player counts.
  • Concurrent players measure simultaneous activity on a platform, while daily users cover a broader time window and, in the Witcher estimate, multiple platforms.
  • Wishlists indicate interest, not purchases. Downloads do not necessarily indicate unique paying customers.
  • Gross revenue is not take-home income. The Meltopia estimate applies stated deductions, but remains an attributed founder estimate.

All figures and release dates here are as presented in Byshonkov’s October 6, 2026 roundup. The roundup links to the named platforms, publishers, analytics provider, studio source, and social posts, but the claims should be understood as reported there rather than as independently reconciled figures.
