Choose the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra for an opened, larger workspace

Choose the POCO F9 Ultra for a conventional slab phone
The POCO has a single 6.9-inch AMOLED display rather than a foldable main screen. That is the simpler choice if you specifically want a conventional handset. The listed diagonal is measured across the full rectangle; Xiaomi notes that the actual viewable area is smaller because of rounded corners and the display cutout.

These are different form factors, not interchangeable screen sizes. Weight alone does not establish which phone feels more comfortable to hold: the listed figures come from different manufacturers and regional product pages, and do not provide a comparative handling test.
How do the displays compare?
Samsung Korea lists the Fold8 Ultra’s main panel at 203.1 mm (about 8 inches), with 2504 × 2256 resolution and a maximum 120 Hz refresh rate. Xiaomi Indonesia lists the POCO’s display at 6.9 inches and a maximum 185 Hz refresh rate. A higher listed maximum refresh rate is one specification, not a guarantee that a screen looks better overall. For a purchase decision, compare local product pages for brightness, resolution, and any other display details that matter to you, and consider whether the Fold’s larger opened workspace is useful enough to justify choosing a foldable.

Camera: Samsung lists megapixel counts, not comparative image quality
Samsung Korea lists three rear cameras on the Fold8 Ultra: 200 MP, 50 MP, and 10 MP. Samsung’s announcement identifies the main camera as 200 MP and the ultra-wide as 50 MP. The cited POCO material does not establish a matching camera configuration, and there is no comparative camera test here. The available evidence therefore cannot identify a camera winner or predict which phone takes better photos.
Battery and charging: only Samsung’s figures are established here
Samsung lists a 5,000 mAh battery and 45 W fast charging for the Fold8 Ultra. The cited POCO specifications do not establish its battery capacity or charging speed, and no comparable endurance test is available. These facts are not enough to say which phone lasts longer or charges faster in practice.

No reliable numerical gap can be given from the available official information: it does not establish current prices for both phones in the same market and a matched storage tier. A launch price for one market compared with a current discounted price elsewhere would not be a fair comparison.
To calculate a useful price difference, compare the same-day local prices for the 512 GB versions in the same country, including tax and applying the same treatment of discounts. If the models sold locally have different storage configurations, compare the closest available tiers and state the difference. Samsung’s Korea storage options and Xiaomi Indonesia’s listed 16 GB/512 GB configuration are regional specifications, not proof that those are the only configurations sold worldwide.

- Pick the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra if you want the option of an 8-inch foldable main screen and its larger opened workspace, and the local price and configuration work for you.
- Pick the POCO F9 Ultra if you want a conventional phone with a 6.9-inch AMOLED display and the Indonesia-listed 16 GB RAM/512 GB storage configuration is the one available in your market.
- Wait to compare local listings if price is the deciding factor. Confirm the exact model, storage, tax treatment, promotion, warranty, supported network bands, and local stock before treating one offer as cheaper.
Availability and regional configurations
Samsung announced the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra on August 6, 2026, with sales beginning August 7 in select markets and a planned expansion to additional markets.
