Yes—supported Galaxy Watches can make contactless payments with Samsung Pay or Samsung Wallet. The name and available features depend on the watch generation and market: Samsung’s U.S. FAQ lists Watch7 and Watch6 series with Samsung Wallet, while Watch4 and Watch5 support Samsung Pay for payment cards. Your phone, country, bank, card, and software must also be compatible.
Which Galaxy Watch models support payments?
Samsung’s U.S. FAQ distinguishes the current wallet name from earlier payment-card support:

What you need before setting it up
- A Galaxy Watch model with payment support in your market.
- A compatible paired phone. Samsung says a compatible Galaxy phone is needed for Samsung Wallet on a watch; with a non-Samsung Android phone, the watch supports Samsung Pay rather than Samsung Wallet. Samsung Wallet is unavailable on iOS.
- A Samsung account and a bank-issued card that is supported for your country and can be verified by the issuer.
- Compatible software and a supported country. Phone requirements differ by watch generation, so use Samsung’s compatibility information for your specific watch instead of applying one Android-version minimum to every model.
Samsung’s country and device availability list notes that supported models vary across markets. Confirm both the watch and card with Samsung’s local support information and your card issuer before relying on tap-to-pay. How to add Samsung Pay or Wallet to your watch
- Connect the watch to your phone. Open Galaxy Wearable and make sure the watch is paired and updated.
- Open the payment settings in Galaxy Wearable. On newer models, look under Watch settings and Pay. Watch4 uses a different route under Apps or App settings. Exact labels vary by model and software.
- Activate the payment app if needed. Some watches require you to enable Samsung Pay through Galaxy Wearable before the app appears on the watch.
- Add a card on the watch. Follow the app prompts. A card already registered on your phone may be available to import, but it still needs to be activated for the watch. You may be asked to create a four-digit watch PIN.
- Complete issuer verification. Follow any bank or card-provider verification steps. Registration can vary by region and wireless provider.

How to pay at a contactless terminal
- Open the payment app on your watch. On supported models, press and hold the Back button to bring up payment cards.
- Select the card you want to use if more than one is available.
- Hold the watch near the contactless payment terminal and wait for the transaction response.

If payment setup or a card does not work
- The app is missing: Check Galaxy Wearable for a Pay setting and activate the payment app if the watch requires it. Menu names differ by model.
- Your phone is not a Samsung phone: Samsung’s U.S. FAQ says non-Samsung Android phones support Samsung Pay on the watch, not Samsung Wallet. Check compatibility for your exact watch and phone.
- The card cannot be added or verified: The watch may be supported while the card, issuer, or country is not. Check with the issuer and Samsung’s local availability information.
- Your watch is older: General support lists older Galaxy Watch and Gear devices, but feature availability is not uniform. Verify the exact model’s regional and software support.
