There is no verified Galaxy S27 Ultra specification or price to compare with the S26 Ultra yet. Samsung’s official material available as of October 3, 2026, documents the S26 Ultra but does not announce or specify an S27 Ultra. That means any definitive claim about what changed—or whether an S26 owner should upgrade—would be premature. Here is the confirmed S26 baseline and what to check when Samsung publishes S27 details.
What is actually known about the Galaxy S27 Ultra?
Samsung’s official sources available as of October 3, 2026, do not provide a Galaxy S27 Ultra announcement, specifications, or price. That is a limit on the official material located, not proof that no unofficial rumors exist; rumors are not a sound basis for an upgrade decision.
Consequently, there is no sourced S27-versus-S26 comparison yet. No reliable conclusion can be drawn about S27’s cameras, performance, battery, display, design, or cost. Treat any claimed differences as unconfirmed unless Samsung documents them or credible independent testing verifies them.

The confirmed Galaxy S26 Ultra baseline
Samsung announced the S26 series on February 25, 2026. Its US announcement said preorders began that day and general availability would start March 11. The US launch price for the S26 Ultra started at $1,299.99, with 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB storage options. That is a US launch-era price, not a current quote; prices and configurations can vary by market, carrier, and date. Samsung Newsroom US

| Processor | Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy. |
| Rear cameras | 50 MP ultra-wide (f/1.9), 200 MP wide (f/1.4), 50 MP telephoto with 5x optical and 10x optical-quality zoom, and 10 MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom. |

The specifications and camera terminology above come from Samsung’s global S26 launch announcement and its US S26 Ultra product page. Samsung calls 3x and 5x optical zoom, while describing 2x and 10x as optical-quality zoom; those terms are not interchangeable.
Privacy Display and performance claims
Samsung presents the built-in Privacy Display as a headline S26 Ultra feature. It offers options to obscure the whole screen or selected apps and incoming sensitive content. Whether an S27 improves this feature—or includes it at all—cannot be established without official S27 information.

Samsung’s 2026 global launch release says S26 Ultra performance is up to 19% higher for CPU, 39% higher for NPU, and 24% higher for GPU compared with the previous generation. These are Samsung’s manufacturer-stated comparisons, not independent test results, and they do not establish how an S27 would perform.
How to decide whether to upgrade when S27 details arrive
Compare the official S27 information with your own S26 and the actual price you would pay after trade-in. A new generation number by itself does not show whether the change is worthwhile.

- Price and trade-in: Compare the S27’s regional price and offers with your net upgrade cost. The S26’s $1,299.99 figure is its US launch starting price; current offers have not been established here.
- Display and privacy: Check panel specifications, refresh rate, and whether Privacy Display changes in a way you would use. The S26 baseline is a 6.9-inch QHD+ AMOLED display with adaptive 1–120 Hz refresh rate and built-in Privacy Display.
- Camera hardware and zoom: Compare sensor specifications and optical zoom separately from optical-quality zoom. For your use, consider low-light photos, portraits, and distant subjects rather than relying on megapixel counts alone.
- Performance and thermals: Look for comparable testing of sustained workloads, such as gaming or extended camera use. Manufacturer performance claims and short peak results do not by themselves show how a phone behaves over time.
- Battery and charging: Compare capacity and charging claims, then look for real-use evidence. The S26’s 5,000 mAh figure is typical capacity, not a promise of a particular runtime.
- Size, weight, and storage: Decide whether a change in dimensions or weight matters to you, and choose a storage tier based on your needs. The S26 weighs 214 g, and its US launch options were 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB.
- Support terms: Compare the published software and security support commitments for both models in your region before treating longevity as an upgrade benefit.
For a fair comparison, use the same region and currency, identify the storage tier, distinguish Samsung’s claims from independent measurements, and compare like-for-like tests. Until S27 information is documented, an S26 owner can decide whether their current phone meets their needs, but cannot assess a substantiated S27 upgrade advantage.
