Apple has confirmed Burgundy as an iPhone 18 Pro finish, but a Violet Galaxy S27 Ultra has not been confirmed by Samsung. The Samsung color is a tipster rumor, and reports do not establish whether it will be sold or what it will look like.
What colors are rumored for the Galaxy S27 Ultra?
On October 5, 2026, Android Central reproduced a post attributed to tipster Ice Universe listing four Galaxy S27 Ultra “base color options”: Black, Blue, Light Pink, and White. The report also notes that Samsung has not officially confirmed the phone or its colors. Read Android Central’s report.
A separate Violet claim appeared in secondary reporting. On October 5, Sammy Fans reported that Ice Universe had pointed to a “special” Violet finish, while 9to5Google said the status of a purple option was unclear. Gizmochina repeated the special-Violet report on October 6. These are reports of a tipster claim, not a Samsung announcement. Sammy Fans, 9to5Google, Gizmochina.

Would Violet be a standard or online-exclusive color?
That is not established. The four reported base colors do not include Violet; reports raise the possibility that it could be a special or online-exclusive option, but do not confirm that Samsung will offer it, where it might be sold, or whether it would be limited. 9to5Google’s report describes the purple option’s status as unclear.

How does the rumored Violet compare with iPhone 18 Pro Burgundy?
The key difference is certainty, not a verified color match. Apple’s September 9, 2026 announcement lists iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max finishes as Burgundy, Glacier, Silver, and Black. Burgundy is therefore an announced Apple finish; Galaxy S27 Ultra Violet remains an unconfirmed tipster claim. Apple’s announcement.
There is not enough confirmed information to compare the two shades side by side or characterize the Galaxy finish’s exact appearance, material, or saturation. Calling Violet a “Burgundy rival” is a useful headline comparison, not evidence that the colors will look alike.

- Confirmed by Apple: iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are announced with Burgundy, Glacier, Silver, and Black finishes.
- Reported, not confirmed by Samsung: Galaxy S27 Ultra base colors of Black, Blue, Light Pink, and White, attributed to Ice Universe.
- Still uncertain: whether the S27 Ultra will have a Violet finish at all, its appearance, and any retail or regional availability.
Until Samsung announces the S27 Ultra and its finishes, Violet should be treated as a rumor rather than a confirmed color option.
