PBKreviews rated the Galaxy S26 Ultra 9/10 for repairability in its March 7, 2026 teardown video. That is not a consensus score: iFixit’s later March 24 teardown gave the phone a provisional 5/10. The assessments differ, and the available sources do not establish that their scoring methods are directly comparable. The teardowns do, however, point to a clear split: battery and USB-C port repairs look more accessible than screen removal.
Why the Galaxy S26 Ultra has two different repairability scores
PBKreviews’ March 7, 2026 teardown video reports a repairability score of 9/10. iFixit’s March 24, 2026 teardown assigns a provisional 5/10. Treat these as separate assessors’ ratings, not two readings on a confirmed shared scale: the available sources do not establish that their scoring rubrics are directly comparable.
Which Galaxy S26 Ultra repairs looked more accessible?
Battery replacement
iFixit describes battery removal as a relative strength. The phone must be opened from the rear, and the lower speaker assembly has to come out to reach the relevant connections. After that access work, iFixit found the battery adhesive comparatively well behaved.

iFixit says the USB-C charging port is modular and comparatively easy to disassemble. A modular part can make a port repair more straightforward than replacing a component integrated into a larger assembly, though the teardown does not establish parts availability or repair cost.

Why screen removal is the main repairability concern
In iFixit’s teardown, the phone opened from the back, while the selfie camera was heavily bonded to the display assembly. Removing the display required substantial heat and suction. During that attempt, the display separated under force before it could be removed cleanly; freeing it from the chassis took further heat and effort.
That is iFixit’s observed teardown experience, not a guarantee that every screen repair will fail or proceed identically. It does show why a display repair can be substantially more demanding than the battery or port work described in the same teardown.

iFixit lists a Galaxy S26 Ultra repair guide. A guide listing does not confirm that every replacement part is currently in stock or available for a particular model and country. Check the exact device variant, region, and current parts listing before ordering; iFixit notes that linked parts information was updated after its teardown article was published.
Samsung’s 2026 environmental report says the company’s Self-Repair program expanded from the US beginning in 2022. That information does not establish S26 Ultra parts coverage in a specific country, so confirm local model support and parts availability directly before planning a repair.

PBKreviews links a smartphone repair tool set in its video description, but no particular kit’s compatibility with the S26 Ultra was verified. A general-purpose tool kit should not be taken as evidence that a difficult display repair is suitable for an inexperienced owner.
