Some Amazon listings reportedly still showed launch pricing shortly after the change, so check the final price at more than one retailer before you buy.

The increase is not limited to the United States: GSMArena found higher prices in Samsung stores across the US, Canada, the UK, mainland Europe and India. For the Galaxy S26 Ultra, its reported prices were $1,400/$1,600/$2,000 in the US, C$2,050/C$2,330/C$2,850 in Canada, £1,360/£1,530/£1,860 in the UK, €1,550/€1,750/€2,150 in Europe, and ₹155,000/₹175,000/₹215,000 in India for 256GB/512GB/1TB, respectively (GSMArena’s regional price report). Why did the Galaxy S26 price go up?
Android Authority linked the increase to a global shortage of memory components, which can put pressure on the cost of phones and other electronics. The reports available do not include a direct Samsung statement confirming that memory costs were the reason for this specific October price change, so treat it as reported industry context rather than Samsung’s stated explanation.

Did every Galaxy S26 model get more expensive?
The reported $100 increase applies to the 256GB and 512GB configurations of the S26, S26 Plus and S26 Ultra. The 1TB Ultra rose by $200. Tom’s Guide listed the Galaxy S26 FE at a $699 starting price and marked it unchanged, so the increase was not reported across the entire S26 family (Tom’s Guide’s price report).
Can you still find the old price on Amazon?
Android Authority and Tom’s Guide reported that some Amazon listings still showed launch pricing shortly after Samsung’s increase. That is a temporary snapshot, not a guarantee that the old price remains available: listings, stock and sellers can change quickly. Compare the exact storage configuration and total checkout price with Samsung’s store, and check who is selling the phone before ordering.

Should you choose the 512GB or 1TB Galaxy S26 Ultra?
The 1TB Ultra now costs $400 more than the 512GB model at the reported US prices: $1,999.99 versus $1,599.99. Consider how much storage you actually need and whether you routinely keep large video files, downloads and apps on your phone. If 512GB is sufficient for your usage, the extra $400 buys capacity you may not use; if you need the space and expect to keep the phone for years, compare that convenience against the premium before deciding.
For either configuration, compare the amount you will actually pay—not just the listed price. Retailer availability and any trade-in or financing terms can affect the final value, and a promotion should be checked directly with the seller for its eligibility and conditions.

The new US starting prices are $999.99, $1,199.99 and $1,399.99, respectively.
