The Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 FE both have large 6.7-inch-class AMOLED screens, but the S24+ has a higher-resolution QHD+ display. Samsung’s U.S. launch prices put the S24+ $350 above the FE; that is a historical launch-price difference, not a current quote. Which is the better buy depends on today’s matched-storage prices, your preference for display detail, and the exact regional models.
What is the difference between the Galaxy S24+ and S24 FE?
The clearest specification difference is screen resolution. Samsung lists a 6.7-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 120Hz adaptive refresh for the S24+, compared with a 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with up to 120Hz adaptive refresh for the FE. Samsung measures the FE screen as 6.5 inches when accounting for rounded corners. The stated diagonal alone does not make the displays equivalent: the S24+ has more pixels, while both offer a large screen and high refresh rate. Samsung’s S24+ specifications and FE specifications provide the listed details.
| Specification | Galaxy S24+ 5G | Galaxy S24 FE | What it means |
|---|---|---|---|
| Display | 6.7-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X; 120Hz adaptive | 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X; up to 120Hz adaptive; 6.5 inches measured accounting for rounded corners | The S24+ has higher listed resolution; both are large, high-refresh-rate displays. |
| Battery capacity | 4,900mAh listed | 4,700mAh typical; 4,565mAh rated minimum in Samsung’s cited specification | Capacity figures do not establish which lasts longer in everyday use. |
| Processor | Verify the configuration for your market | Exynos 2400e listed by Samsung | Check the exact regional model; a processor name alone does not establish comparative speed. |
| U.S. launch price | From $999.99 | From $649.99 | A $350 historical starting-price difference, not a current price comparison. |
How do the cameras compare?
Samsung lists the FE with a 50MP wide camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, an 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 10MP front camera. Samsung’s S24+ specifications also describe its camera hardware. Those specifications identify the hardware, but they do not show which phone takes better photos. Megapixel counts and lens labels are not substitutes for comparable photo and video tests.
If camera quality is decisive, compare sample images from the exact models and conditions you care about, such as low light, moving subjects, portrait shots, or zoom. No comparable test results are established here, so a camera-quality winner cannot be declared from the specifications alone.
#1 Best Overall
- 6.7″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X, QHD+ display with 1–120 Hz adaptive refresh and a peak brightness of ~2,600 nits — giving a noticeably sharper, brighter screen than the base S24.
Is the S24+ worth the extra money over the S24 FE?
Samsung’s 2024 U.S. launch announcements set the S24+ starting price at $999.99 and the FE starting price at $649.99, a $350 gap before taxes, promotions, trade-ins, or storage matching. Samsung announced 256GB and 512GB S24+ configurations; the FE’s launch figure was a starting price. These are launch references, not what either phone necessarily costs now. Samsung’s S24-series launch announcement and its S24 FE announcement give the original U.S. context.
For a later U.S. reference, Samsung’s March 2026 MSRP list gives the FE at $649.99 for 8GB/128GB and $709.99 for 8GB/256GB. Those are list prices, not live retailer offers, and they cannot establish a current price gap against the S24+ without a matched, current S24+ price. Samsung’s FE buying page also displayed “From $649.99 before eligible trade-in” when observed; offers and conditions can change.

- No Warranty. Compatible with Most GSM and CDMA Carriers like T-Mobile, AT&T, MetroPCS, etc. Will Also work with CDMA Carriers Such as Verizon, Sprint.
To decide whether the S24+ is worth paying more for, compare both phones at the same retailer and date, in the same country, with the same storage capacity and condition. Also account for warranty, carrier lock, and promotions. The S24+ is the more straightforward fit if its higher listed display resolution matters to you. The FE is a reasonable value candidate when its current price is lower and its FHD+ screen meets your needs; the historical $350 gap should not be treated as today’s savings.

What should you check before buying?
- Market model: Confirm the exact model number, chipset configuration, and network bands for your country. Samsung lists the FE with an Exynos 2400e, but that does not establish identical configurations across markets or measured performance.
- Matched price: Compare the same storage tier, condition, seller type, and warranty, and include any trade-in or carrier terms that affect the final price.
- Battery expectations: Samsung lists 4,900mAh for the S24+ and 4,700mAh typical capacity for the FE, with a 4,565mAh rated minimum for the FE. These are capacity specifications, not comparable runtime measurements.
- Charging and box contents: Samsung says the FE can reach about 50% charge in around 30 minutes using a 25W adapter and USB-C cable under its stated laboratory conditions. The adapter is sold separately in the cited U.S. material; check the package contents and charger compatibility for your region.
- Cases and screen protectors: Buy accessories made for the exact model. Similar screen diagonals do not mean the two phones share accessory dimensions or fit.
