The Galaxy M36 5G and Galaxy A27 5G are closely matched on display size, battery capacity and charging, but differ in camera specifications, processor detail, durability rating and the way Samsung describes software support. The A27 has published India launch prices; Samsung’s M36 page showed “Not for sale” when accessed on October 7, 2026, so a current price gap cannot be established from those sources.

What is the price difference between Galaxy M36 and A27 5G?
There is no substantiated current price difference to calculate from the available official India pages. Samsung’s A27 announcement on June 30, 2026 listed these launch prices, with availability beginning July 3:

The announcement also described a ₹3,000 bank/UPI cashback and financing options. These were launch terms, not confirmation that the offer remains available. Samsung’s M36 India page identifies an 8 GB/128 GB model and a June 27, 2025 launch date, but showed “Not for sale” when accessed October 7, 2026 and did not provide a reliable current selling price. For a fair buying comparison, check live listings for the same storage tier and separate listed prices from temporary discounts, cashback and trade-in values.
Do Galaxy M36 and A27 5G have the same battery and display?
Display
Both are in the 6.7-inch-class FHD+ Super AMOLED category and advertise a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. Samsung gives the M36 display as 16.91 cm across the full rectangle (16.45 cm with rounded corners), while its A27 announcement calls the panel 6.7 inches. The measurement conventions differ slightly, but the headline display class is closely matched.

Battery and charging
Both phones are specified with a 5,000 mAh typical battery and 25 W wired charging. Samsung says the M36’s 25 W charger is sold separately. Capacity and charging wattage alone do not establish which phone lasts longer in real use; that depends on workload, settings, signal conditions and other factors. Samsung described the A27 as offering “all-day use,” a manufacturer claim rather than an independent battery test.
Which phone has the better camera, Galaxy M36 or A27?
On paper, the M36 has the higher-resolution ultrawide and front cameras: 8 MP versus 5 MP for the ultrawide, and 13 MP versus 12 MP for the selfie camera. Both have a 50 MP main camera with optical image stabilization and a 2 MP macro camera. Samsung highlights HDR for the A27 front camera and 4K recording for its main camera.

These specifications do not prove that the M36 takes better photos. Image quality also depends on sensor and lens design, processing and shooting conditions; the listed megapixel counts are not a comparative camera test.
How do performance, durability and software support compare?
Processor
Samsung names the A27’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 platform and identifies it as a 4 nm chip. The M36 page lists an octa-core processor with frequencies of 2.4 GHz and 2 GHz without naming the chipset in the cited specifications. These descriptions are not enough to determine which phone is faster: no directly comparable benchmark results are established here.

Durability
Samsung specifies an IP64 rating and Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection for the A27. Samsung says the IP64 resistance is based on a laboratory spray test, may diminish with wear, and does not make the phone suitable for beach or pool use. The reviewed M36 specification text promotes Gorilla Glass Victus+ but does not establish an IP rating; that is not proof that the phone has no water-resistance rating in all official documentation.

Software support
Samsung advertises six OS upgrades for the M36 and lists security updates through December 31, 2031, while noting that update plans can change. For the A27, Samsung promises up to six generations of OS/One UI upgrades and up to six years of security updates from the initial global launch date. These statements use different reference points and qualifications, so they should not be treated as a guaranteed identical end date.

Which phone should you choose?
Choose the Galaxy M36 5G if
- You want the larger stated ultrawide-camera resolution or a 13 MP front camera.
- You can find a current M36 listing at a price that makes sense against the A27’s live price for the same storage capacity.
Choose the Galaxy A27 5G if
- You value an explicitly named Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 platform, while recognizing that the specification alone does not prove a performance advantage.
- You want Samsung’s stated IP64 rating and its published A27 launch-price reference for comparing current offers.
If neither camera resolution nor the A27’s stated IP rating is decisive, the official specifications show substantial overlap in display class, battery capacity and charging. Compare actual India listings for matching configurations before deciding; the launch prices do not reveal today’s relative value.
