The Galaxy M36 5G is the better value if its lower checkout price holds and 6 GB of RAM is enough; the Galaxy A35 5G is the stronger fit if you want a stated IP67 rating, microSD expansion, 8 GB RAM in the compared configuration, or a clearly stated security-update period. In Smartprix’s comparison updated September 27, 2026, the M36 was listed at ₹21,999 and the A35 at ₹32,999—a ₹11,000 snapshot difference, not a guaranteed current price. The listed configurations differ too: 6 GB/128 GB for M36 versus 8 GB/128 GB for A35.

How much cheaper is the Galaxy M36?
Smartprix’s comparison listed the M36 at ₹21,999 and the A35 at ₹32,999 when its page was last updated on September 27, 2026, making the M36 ₹11,000 cheaper in that snapshot. These are retail listing prices, not fixed Samsung prices or a promise of current availability; see Smartprix’s comparison.

Another listing illustrates why it is risky to shop from a single comparison figure: 91mobiles showed an M36 Amazon listing at ₹21,999 and an A35 listing at ₹18,999 marked out of stock when accessed October 7, 2026. The A35 figure is not a dependable current alternative if that listing cannot be bought; check 91mobiles’ comparison listing and confirm the seller, stock, and exact RAM/storage variant at checkout.

Compare the same configuration before deciding
The cited M36 SKU has 6 GB RAM, while the cited A35 SKU has 8 GB. If you find other RAM or storage variants, compare matching capacities where possible and use the final checkout price for each. An apparent price gap can change with promotions, seller, stock, or configuration.
Display and battery: similar headline specifications
Both India models list an FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 5,000 mAh typical battery capacity. The M36’s listed screen diagonal is 16.91 cm, slightly larger than the A35’s 16.83 cm; the shared resolution and refresh-rate figures alone do not establish a meaningful difference in image quality, brightness, or smoothness.

Samsung lists up to 26 hours of video playback for the A35 and up to 17 hours for the M36. These figures come from separate manufacturer product pages, not a controlled head-to-head test, so they should not be read as proof that the A35 lasts nine hours longer in ordinary use. Actual runtime depends on usage and conditions.
Both support 25W charging, and Samsung says the charger is sold separately. Check the box contents for the exact India SKU before buying a charger.

Camera hardware: A35 has the higher-resolution macro module
Samsung lists a 50 MP main, 8 MP secondary, and 5 MP macro rear-camera set for the A35, compared with 50 MP, 8 MP, and 2 MP for the M36. OIS is listed for both. The A35 therefore has the higher-resolution macro specification on paper, but megapixel counts alone do not establish which phone takes better photos. Both pages list a 13 MP front camera.
Durability, weight, and storage expansion
A35 has a defined IP67 rating
Samsung rates the A35 IP67 under laboratory conditions: up to 1 metre in freshwater for up to 30 minutes. Samsung says not to use it at the beach or pool and notes that resistance may diminish over time. The Samsung M36 page reviewed does not establish an IP rating; that absence is not proof of a particular water-resistance performance.

M36 is lighter; A35 supports microSD
The M36 weighs 197 g versus 209 g for the A35, a 12 g difference in the official specifications. Samsung lists microSD expansion up to 1 TB for the A35. Consider that if you keep a large local photo, video, or music library; the reviewed M36 page does not establish comparable expansion support.
Software support: M36 advertises more OS upgrades, A35 states security duration
Samsung advertises six generations of OS upgrades for the M36, but qualifies the statement as a description of current plans and says timing or content may change. The M36 page reviewed does not state a security-update duration, so do not assume one from the OS-upgrade count.

For the A35, Samsung states up to four generations of OS upgrades and up to five years of security updates, also subject to change. This is the clearer published security-duration figure of the two pages reviewed, while the M36 has the larger advertised OS-upgrade count. Neither policy should be interpreted as a guaranteed delivery schedule for every update.
Which one should you buy?
Choose the Galaxy M36 if
- Its verified checkout price is materially lower than the A35’s for a configuration that suits you.
- 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage meet your needs, or you have confirmed a different M36 SKU.
- You value a lighter phone and the larger advertised OS-upgrade count, while understanding Samsung describes the M36 policy as current plans.
Choose the Galaxy A35 if
- You want Samsung’s stated IP67 rating and understand its freshwater, depth, duration, and use limitations.
- You want microSD expansion up to 1 TB or the 8 GB RAM configuration compared here.
- The stated period of up to five years of security updates matters more to you than the M36’s higher OS-upgrade count.
These are specification and listing comparisons, not results from hands-on testing. Before paying, verify the exact model, memory tier, seller, current stock, included charger, and final price.
