In India, the Galaxy M36 5G launched at ₹3,500 less than the Galaxy M35 5G in each matching RAM and storage configuration listed by Samsung. The M35 has a larger stated battery; the M36 is lighter, thinner, and carries a specific six-generation Android upgrade and six-year security-update commitment. Both list a 120 Hz FHD+ Super AMOLED display and the same headline rear-camera configuration. These are launch-era comparisons, not current retail prices.
India launch prices: M36 was ₹3,500 lower in each matching variant
Samsung’s India announcements list the following launch or introductory prices. The M35 figures are from 2024 and the M36 figures from 2025; the M36’s prices are introductory, not a check of today’s retailer listings. The ₹3,500 differences are calculated from Samsung’s listed prices.

Samsung also described launch-period offers in its announcements. For the M35, the announcement listed bank discounts and limited-period offers; for the M36, the stated 6GB/128GB price included a ₹1,000 instant bank discount. Those offers are distinct from the listed launch or introductory prices and should not be treated as current discounts. How the specifications differ
The measurements below come from Samsung’s India product specifications. They describe listed hardware, not independent performance testing.

Which phone is better for your priorities?
Choose the M35 if battery capacity matters most
Samsung lists a 6000 mAh typical battery for the M35, compared with 5000 mAh typical for the M36. That is a 1000 mAh capacity difference, but capacity alone cannot establish which phone lasts longer in everyday use. Samsung’s product pages also provide manufacturer playback estimates—up to 31 hours for the M35 and up to 17 hours for the M36—but these are not independent tests and should not be treated as directly comparable real-world results.

Choose the M36 if you want a lighter, thinner phone and a stated update commitment
The M36 is 25 g lighter by Samsung’s listed weights and is 7.7 mm thick, versus 9.1 mm for the M35. Samsung specifies six generations of Android upgrades and six years of security updates for the M36, with security updates listed through December 31, 2031. The selected sources do not establish a like-for-like update-duration promise for the M35, so the comparison should not be read as proof that it receives no further updates.
Expect similar headline display and camera specifications
Both specification pages list a 1080 × 2340 Super AMOLED panel with a refresh rate up to 120 Hz. The M36’s stated screen size is marginally larger. Both phones list 50 MP, 8 MP, and 2 MP rear cameras, with OIS listed, plus a 13 MP front camera. Matching resolutions and hardware labels do not establish equivalent photo or video quality; the available specifications are not camera test results.

What the specifications do—and do not—settle
- The M36 is the newer model: it launched in India on June 27, 2025, after the M35’s July 17, 2024 launch.
- Samsung’s listed figures establish that the M35 has greater battery capacity, while the M36 is lighter and thinner. They do not establish actual battery endurance or comfort in every user’s hands.
- The M35 product result documents microSD expansion up to 1 TB. The retrieved M36 result does not specify expansion, which is not evidence that the feature is absent.
- No independent benchmark, camera test, battery-life study, or current retail-price check is established by these sources. Check retailer listings for the exact RAM/storage variant and live price before buying.
Samsung named Amazon among the sales channels in its India launch announcements, but that does not establish present stock, a current price, or any particular listing’s terms.
