The Galaxy A57 5G and Nothing Phone (4a) Pro trade different strengths: Samsung documents a long software-support commitment and IP68 water resistance for its Japan-market model, while Nothing offers the larger cited display and promotes a telephoto-oriented camera system. There is no reliable worldwide price gap: the available U.S. figures compare Samsung’s launch starting price with a changeable Nothing store-page display for one configuration.
Price difference: compare the same market and configuration
The available U.S. figures are not like-for-like current prices. Samsung announced a U.S. starting price of $549.99 for the Galaxy A57 5G and said availability would begin April 9, 2026. That is a manufacturer launch price, not a current retailer quote. Samsung’s U.S. launch announcement
When accessed, Nothing’s U.S. product page showed $419 beside a crossed-out $499 for an 8GB/128GB Phone (4a) Pro selection. The page text does not establish how long that displayed offer lasts, so it should not be treated as a permanent price. Nothing’s U.S. product page

Which screen and camera approach suits you?
Display size
The cited diagonal measurements are 6.7 inches for the A57 and 6.83 inches for the Phone (4a) Pro, so Nothing’s screen is larger on paper. TechRadar lists the A57’s resolution and 120Hz AMOLED panel; the cited Nothing comparison establishes its diagonal, not a full like-for-like assessment of brightness, color or display quality. Screen size alone does not determine which looks better.

Zoom and camera claims
Samsung’s listed rear setup combines a main, ultra-wide and macro camera. Nothing advertises a three-camera system and “140x ultra zoom,” while the comparison listing describes a telephoto configuration. Treat 140x as Nothing’s marketing claim, not as a statement of optical zoom or proof of image quality. Camera specifications may differ by region, and the cited figures do not establish which phone takes better photos.

What the chip and battery figures can—and cannot—tell you
The A57 is listed with an Exynos 1680 and the Phone (4a) Pro with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. Chip names alone do not establish sustained speed, heat management or gaming performance; a fair verdict would require comparable tests under stated conditions.

The cited capacities are 5,000mAh for Samsung and 5,080mAh for Nothing. Capacity is not the same as real-world battery life. 91mobiles lists test results of 11h 36m for the A57 and 13h 49m for the Nothing phone, but the retrieved comparison does not establish the test protocol. Those times are therefore not a dependable universal endurance prediction.
For charging, TechRadar lists 45W wired charging for the A57. Samsung Japan says the phone can reach 60% in about 30 minutes with Super Fast Charging 2.0 under its stated test conditions; this is a manufacturer claim, not a guarantee for every charger or charging situation. The cited official Nothing page does not provide a full charging specification, so the available evidence does not support a direct charging-speed comparison.

Samsung’s documented durability and software terms
Samsung Japan’s A57 announcement states IP68 protection, based on resistance in up to 1.5m of fresh water for up to 30 minutes. Samsung does not recommend use in the sea or pool and says water resistance is not permanent and may diminish with normal use. These are Japan-market announcement terms; check that the regional model you are considering carries the same rating.

The cited sources do not establish a comparable official Phone (4a) Pro support commitment, so the available information cannot settle which receives longer support.

Which phone should you choose?
- Consider the Galaxy A57 5G if Samsung’s Japan-announced IP68 rating and software-support commitment matter to you, or if the Galaxy software environment is already part of your setup. Confirm that the terms apply to your regional model.
- Consider the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro if a larger cited display and a telephoto-oriented camera presentation are higher priorities. Verify the camera details and the exact regional configuration before purchase.
- Compare checkout prices before deciding on value. The U.S. evidence pairs a Samsung launch starting price with a volatile Nothing page display for 8GB/128GB, not equivalent live offers. Match storage, market and seller, then assess the current prices available to you.
Neither chipset name, battery capacity nor Nothing’s zoom figure alone proves overall superiority. The better choice depends on the features you value and the exact regional price and configuration you can buy.
