The vivo T4 Pro stands out for its dedicated 3x periscope camera, larger battery and higher listed charging power. The Samsung Galaxy A36 5G is the stronger fit if you value Samsung’s stated software-support period, IP67 protection, or an ultra-wide camera. There is no dependable single current price gap: compare the same RAM and storage configuration and check live stock and checkout prices in India.

Specifications are from Samsung India’s Galaxy A36 product page, its India launch announcement, the vivo T4 Pro parameter page and the vivo India Store. These are manufacturer-listed figures, not independent comparative test results.
Which phone has the more useful camera setup?
Choose the vivo T4 Pro for a dedicated 3x telephoto
The T4 Pro’s standout camera difference is its 50MP OIS 3x periscope telephoto camera, alongside a 50MP OIS main camera. It is the more purpose-built option on paper for framing distant subjects without relying only on digital zoom. Its third rear camera is a 2MP bokeh sensor.
Choose the Galaxy A36 for an ultra-wide view
Samsung lists a 50MP OIS main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide and a 5MP macro camera. The ultra-wide gives you a separate option for fitting more of a landscape or group into the frame; the macro lens is intended for close subjects. The T4 Pro’s listed rear-camera mix does not include an ultra-wide.

The published megapixel counts and hardware do not establish which phone takes better photos overall. The available specifications do not provide a controlled, independent camera comparison.
Battery capacity and charging: what the figures tell you
vivo lists a 6500mAh typical battery and charging up to 90W for the T4 Pro; Samsung lists a 5000mAh typical battery and 45W charging for the A36. Those figures give the T4 Pro the advantage in stated capacity and maximum charging power. They do not establish actual battery life or the time needed to charge: usage, software, temperature and charging conditions matter, and no independent comparative test is established here.
vivo’s parameter page also lists a rated battery capacity of 6330mAh alongside its 6500mAh typical figure. The two values describe different capacity ratings, so they should not be treated as contradictory or substituted for one another.

Display, durability and software support
Display
Both phones have 120Hz AMOLED displays. The A36 is listed with a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED panel, while the T4 Pro has a 6.77-inch AMOLED display at 2392 × 1080. The vivo panel is slightly larger by the stated diagonal; the listed resolution is also more specific. These specifications alone do not settle brightness, color accuracy or outdoor readability.
Protection and water exposure
Samsung lists IP67 protection and Gorilla Glass Victus+ for the Galaxy A36. vivo states IP68 and IP69 ratings for the T4 Pro, but warns that liquid-ingress damage is not covered by warranty. A protection rating is not a promise that a phone will remain undamaged in every water-related situation; check the applicable warranty terms and avoid treating either device as waterproof.
How long each brand says it will receive updates
Samsung promises six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates for the A36. vivo’s India Store lists four years of Android OS updates and six years of security updates for the T4 Pro. On the stated schedules, Samsung offers two more OS-upgrade generations, while both listings specify six years of security updates. The terms come from the manufacturers and are not a guarantee of a particular update’s release date.

Price difference in India: compare matching variants
There is no single reliable current price gap established for these phones. Prices vary by seller, configuration, stock and offer, so compare the same RAM/storage variant and confirm the final checkout price rather than subtracting unlike listings.

- T4 Pro store listing: when the vivo India Store was checked in 2026, it listed the 8GB/128GB model at ₹27,999 against an MRP of ₹32,999, but the selected listing showed “Out of stock.” This is a dated listing for one configuration, not proof of current availability or a checkout price.
Third-party comparison pages have shown different prices and variant combinations. For example, Smartprix’s 8GB/256GB comparison listing was last updated September 16, 2026 and displayed ₹27,999 for the A36 and ₹29,695 for the T4 Pro. Treat those as dated listings, not authoritative live prices. Samsung’s own India launch announcement confirms that the A36 launched in India; a contrary third-party comparison claim does not override it.
Which one should you choose?
- Pick the vivo T4 Pro if a dedicated 3x periscope camera, greater stated battery capacity or higher maximum charging power matters most to you.
- Pick the Samsung Galaxy A36 if you prefer an ultra-wide camera, want Samsung’s stated six generations of OS upgrades, or value its listed IP67 protection and Gorilla Glass Victus+.
- For a price-led decision, check live stock and checkout totals for the exact same RAM/storage configuration. The available dated prices do not support a dependable current winner on price alone.
The Galaxy A36 was launched in India; Samsung’s newsroom announcement is dated March 3, 2025. Samsung’s product page gives March 2, 2025 as a launch date, so the newsroom date is the clearest reference for the announcement rather than a claim about the first retail date.
