These specifications are not equally well verified: Samsung’s UK product page provides detailed A36 information, while several moto g max details come from Gadgets Now rather than the accessible Motorola product page. Check the exact regional model and SKU before relying on the Moto figures.
Which phone has the better display and build protection?
Galaxy A36 5G: AMOLED and a stated IP rating
Samsung’s UK specification lists a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. It also lists IP67 resistance. Those are documented advantages if screen technology, smooth scrolling or a stated dust-and-water resistance rating are priorities. The rating is not a promise that a phone is indestructible; follow Samsung’s handling and warranty guidance for the regional model.

Gadgets Now reports a 6.72-inch LCD for the moto g max, but the accessible Motorola product information does not confirm the display type, resolution or refresh rate. The size alone does not establish which screen is better. Confirm those details against the specific model code before buying.

How do the battery and cameras compare?
Battery capacity
Samsung specifies a 5,000 mAh typical battery and 45 W charging for the A36 5G. The 45 W wall charger is sold separately, so factor in the cost or availability of a compatible charger if you do not already have one.
Gadgets Now reports a 7,000 mAh battery for the moto g max, which would be a larger stated capacity than Samsung’s figure. Motorola’s accessible product page does not corroborate that number, and capacity alone cannot establish real-world battery life. Treat the Moto figure as a comparison-site claim until it is verified for the exact model.

Samsung lists a 50 MP wide, 8 MP ultrawide and 5 MP macro rear camera system, with optical image stabilization listed for the rear camera, plus a 12 MP front camera. Gadgets Now lists 50 MP + 8 MP rear cameras for the Moto, but the available cited information does not establish stabilization or the front-camera specification. Megapixel counts do not by themselves show which phone takes better photos.

On the captured Gadgets Now page, the displayed Moto price is ₹3,000 below the displayed Galaxy A36 price. That arithmetic describes only those listed offers; it is not a reliable like-for-like saving because the comparison shows differing configuration details and does not verify a same-day matched-SKU quote. Motorola India’s family catalog separately displayed ₹25,999 against an MRP of ₹42,999 for the Moto, a volatile catalog price rather than a permanent street price. Check the seller, availability, RAM/storage tier and final checkout total before deciding which is cheaper.
Other market prices are not directly comparable
Samsung Korea’s June 11, 2025 launch announcement gave a Korea-market price of ₩499,400 for a 6GB + 128GB Galaxy A36 5G. Samsung’s US commerce page, captured October 7, 2026, listed the unlocked 128GB model at $399.99 and 256GB at $474.99; both were marked out of stock at capture. These are different markets, dates and availability conditions, so they should not be blended into an Indian price comparison.
