Samsung’s figures and commitments come from its India launch announcement. Motorola’s battery and configurations are listed on its moto g37 power product page and India catalog. Secondary comparison pages disagree on some Moto specifications, so this comparison avoids treating those entries as settled facts.
Which display is better?
The Galaxy A17 5G has the clearer documented advantage for image detail: Samsung specifies a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display. Comparison listings characterize the Moto as having a similarly sized HD+ LCD and a higher refresh rate, but those are secondary-source descriptions rather than a complete manufacturer-verified specification. Motorola advertises a 7,000mAh battery for the moto g37 power, compared with Samsung’s stated 5,000mAh capacity for the A17. That makes the Moto the more compelling option on capacity alone, especially if reducing charging frequency is a priority. Capacity is not a runtime test: actual endurance depends on screen use, signal conditions, software, and other factors, and the reviewed sources do not establish a controlled battery-life comparison.

Samsung lists 25W charging for the A17. Charging details for the Moto vary across comparison listings and were not confirmed in the accessible official product information, so check the exact regional variant and included accessories before buying based on charging speed.
Camera: Samsung has the better documented case
Samsung specifies a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization, plus a 5MP ultra-wide and a macro camera. OIS can help reduce blur caused by hand movement, particularly in still photos and video, though it does not guarantee better results in every scene. The reviewed Moto listings do not provide a consistently documented camera specification, so there is not enough reliable evidence here to declare a camera winner by megapixel count.

Updates and durability
Samsung’s stated A17 support commitment is six generations of Android upgrades and six years of security updates. Samsung also specifies IP54 resistance and front Gorilla Glass Victus. These are manufacturer claims, not an independent durability test. Comparable Moto support and protection details were not confirmed from the accessible Motorola India product information, so buyers should verify those points directly for the exact Moto variant rather than assume the phones offer equivalent coverage.
India price difference: compare the exact variant
Prices are volatile and the available figures do not form a clean same-configuration comparison. Motorola India displayed an MRP of ₹26,499 and a listed price of ₹19,999 for a moto g37 power listing on October 7, 2026; this is a changing catalog price, not a fixed market price. Smartprix displayed comparison prices of ₹17,132 for the Moto and ₹19,499 for the A17 on a page marked last updated September 13, 2026. Other comparison listings showed different prices, including A17 figures around ₹22,699–₹22,949 and Moto figures around ₹14,939–₹17,132, depending on source and listing.

Those snapshots may refer to different variants, sellers, or offers, so subtracting them would produce a misleading “price difference.” Check current listings for the same RAM/storage tier, confirm whether the price is an offer or regular listing, and compare the final checkout price. The moto g37 power is a real India-market Motorola model, but some secondary listings disagree on details such as its chipset. Gadgets Now identifies a Dimensity 6400, while Gadgets360 and 91mobiles list a Dimensity 6300.
