Yes—you can still field an all-Fyreslayers army in Battletome: Khazalite Holds. The new book also lets you combine Fyreslayers with Kromdron. The key collection change is that Vulkite Berzerkers and six other older entries are leaving the Battletome roster and are scheduled to move to Warhammer Legends after a one-year competitive-events transition measured from the book’s release.
Which Fyreslayers are listed in Battletome: Khazalite Holds?
Warhammer Community’s 2026 roster coverage lists 12 Fyreslayers unit entries in the Battletome:
- Auric Runefather on Magmadroth
- Auric Runeson on Magmadroth
- Auric Runesmiter on Magmadroth
- Auric Runefather
- Auric Runeson
- Auric Runesmiter
- Auric Flamekeeper
- Grimhold Exile
- Vulkyn Flameseekers
- Auric Hearthguard
- Hearthguard Berzerkers
- Ormyr and Ashtongue
Gotrek Gurnisson receives an honourable mention, but Warhammer Community says he is not technically a Fyreslayer. For the full roster and departures, see Warhammer Community’s Khazalite Holds Fyreslayers coverage.
Ormyr and Ashtongue
The new pair is Ormyr, a wandering beastmaster, and Ashtongue, his kyndledroth. They are among the Fyreslayers named in the Battletome preview.

Can you still play an all-Fyreslayers army?
Yes. Warhammer Community says players who want an army composed entirely of Grimnir’s followers can do so by selecting Fyreslayers units or choosing the Fyrd of Fyrepeak Army of Renown. The preview also says existing miniatures can be used with the new Battletome, either in a full Fyreslayers army or alongside Kromdron. See the official Battletome preview for that announcement.
Choose between an all-Fyreslayers force and a mixed force
The practical distinction is roster scope. A Fyreslayers-only approach uses the listed Fyreslayers entries or Fyrd of Fyrepeak; a mixed Khazalite Holds force can add Fyreslayers alongside Kromdron, which brings its own guns, artillery and defensive elements. The announcement establishes that both approaches are supported, but does not provide enough rules, points or tournament data to rank their performance.
Which Fyreslayers entries are moving to Warhammer Legends?
Warhammer Community identifies seven departures from the Battletome roster:
Recommended Free Tools
- Vulkite Berzerkers
- Auric Runemaster
- Battlesmith
- Doomseeker
- Grimwrath Berzerker
- Magmic Battleforge
- Magmic Invocations
The publisher says these entries will remain usable in competitive events for one year after the new Battletome releases, then move to Warhammer Legends. The clock is relative to the book’s release date; the cited coverage does not give a calendar release date. Legends status is therefore not described as an immediate ban from all play.
Why Vulkite Berzerkers are the most notable change
The official coverage calls Vulkite Berzerkers the most impactful departure because they have been a mainstay in several armies. It describes a roster direction that puts greater emphasis on Hearthguard and Flameseekers as infantry, supported by Magmadroths and characters. This is a description of the roster shift, not a published competitive ranking.
The departing units are expected to come off sale, but the announcement does not establish that they have already disappeared from every retailer. Players considering those kits should check current availability rather than assume either continued stock or universal unavailability.

What is Khazalite Holds in the setting?
Khazalite Holds is presented as a new duardin faction, with Fyreslayers also called Grimmdron in the preview. They are depicted as a diminished force seeking vengeance. The setting coverage describes karaks built into mountains: upper halls and underground deeps, resonance chambers where Khazalites believe they can hear the stone, halls devoted to remembering the Ancestor Gods and a great forge at each hold’s heart. These are lore details, not game-rule changes. Read the Warhammer Community setting feature for more of the faction’s background.
What is known about the Battletome’s release?
The official articles say the Army Set includes the Battletome and that the book will also be sold separately at a later date. They describe the range as available for preorder “very soon,” but do not state an exact preorder date, general release date, price or retail availability. Those details should be checked against current official listings.
