There is no confirmed Fujifilm X-T6 specification to compare with the X-H2 in the official Fujifilm materials available here. Fujifilm’s documented X-T model is the X-T5. If that is the camera you meant, the X-T5 and X-H2 share a 40.2-megapixel sensor and X-Processor 5, but differ in listed card formats and documented video capabilities. Do not rely on an X-T6 comparison until Fujifilm publishes specifications for that model.
Is the Fujifilm X-T6 a confirmed camera?
The official Fujifilm materials available for this comparison include product specifications for the X-H2 and X-T5, but no X-T6 announcement or specification page. That does not prove an announcement cannot exist elsewhere; it means an X-T6’s release date, price, design, autofocus, stabilization, video modes, and other specifications cannot be stated as confirmed facts here. Fujifilm’s X-H2 product specifications and X-T5 product specifications are the documented basis for the comparison below.
Accordingly, the useful verified matchup is X-T5 versus X-H2—not X-T6 versus X-H2. Do not treat rumors or assumptions based on the X-T5 as X-T6 specifications.

Fujifilm lists both cameras with a 40.2-million-effective-pixel X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor and X-Processor 5. Those shared headline specifications make either model relevant to photographers prioritizing high-resolution stills, but they do not demonstrate identical image quality, speed, or overall performance.

Sensor, processor, and mount details come from Fujifilm’s X-H2 specifications and X-T5 specifications. The table’s video detail is a launch-era manufacturer statement, not an independent test or a direct performance comparison.
Which documented model better fits your work?
Choose the X-H2 if your workflow calls for CFexpress Type B
Fujifilm lists both SD and CFexpress Type B storage for the X-H2, while the X-T5 specification page lists SD media. That makes the X-H2 the documented option of these two if your intended workflow specifically requires CFexpress Type B. Check Fujifilm’s X-H2 compatibility chart for supported media, and match a card to the recording mode you plan to use; the camera’s inclusion of a format alone does not determine which card is suitable for every mode.

Consider the X-H2 for its documented 8K/30p ProRes mode
In its release dated September 8, 2022 (published September 9), Fujifilm highlighted internal 8K/30p Apple ProRes recording on the X-H2. The company called it “a new flagship model boasting the highest resolution in the history of the X Series in both stills and videos.” That is Fujifilm’s launch positioning, not an independent ranking or evidence that the X-H2 outperforms the X-T5 in every video task. If that specific recording mode matters to your production, verify its current requirements and details in Fujifilm’s X-H2 launch announcement and the current full specifications.
For still photography, do not decide on resolution alone
Both cameras are listed at 40.2 million effective pixels and use X-Processor 5. Those figures do not settle which body is the better fit for your shooting style. The verified information here does not establish a comparison of viewfinders, controls, stabilization, autofocus behavior, burst rates, battery life, weight, or price. Check those details in the full current Fujifilm specifications and handle the cameras if those factors affect your work.

Factor in the lenses and cards you already own
Both models use Fujifilm X mount. Fujifilm’s X-H2 compatibility chart covers interchangeable XF and XC lenses, so existing lenses in those ranges are relevant to an X-H2 setup. Check the chart and the current specifications for the precise lens and recording combination you intend to use. For storage, distinguish the X-H2’s listed SD and CFexpress Type B options from the X-T5’s listed SD media before planning a card workflow.

The official product information cited here is enough to establish the shared sensor-resolution and processor labels, mounts, and listed storage formats, along with Fujifilm’s launch-era X-H2 video claim. It does not provide a confirmed X-T6 product, an independent X-T6-versus-X-H2 test, or a complete head-to-head assessment of handling and performance. Product specifications can change with firmware, region, or manufacturer updates, so consult Fujifilm’s current full specifications before buying.
