Fujifilm is taking over operation of the new co-branded Google Photos Print Store, starting with the US rollout that began at the end of August 2026. You can still start an order from your Google Photos library, but Fujifilm handles checkout and customer support for orders through its store. This is a change to photo printing—not a takeover of Google Photos itself.
What changed in Google Photos’ Print Store?
Fujifilm North America announced the partnership on August 31, 2026. In the new arrangement, Fujifilm takes a leading operational and customer-support role, including storefront management, customer service, customer lifecycle marketing, and an expanded product catalog. Google Photos remains the place users can begin browsing and selecting photos.
Fujifilm says the storefront will continue to use Google Photos’ intelligence to surface relevant photos and personalized print opportunities. In a statement included in Fujifilm’s launch announcement, Google Photos vice president Shimrit Ben-Yair said the partnership would continue to provide a “seamless printing experience” and offer more ways to print photos.

Yes. Google Photos’ current help instructions say users can choose a product or suggestion from their library and follow the prompts to connect to Fujifilm’s printing service. The listed products include:

Who handles payment and support?
For purchases through Fujifilm’s store, you enter payment details during Fujifilm checkout. Google says it does not store card details for these orders. Fujifilm handles questions about shipping, order status, print quality, and refunds for new Fujifilm-store purchases.
Older orders may have been processed by the Google Photos Print Store instead. Check your order history and the charge or confirmation email to identify whether Google or Fujifilm handled a particular order; that determines which support route to use.

What happens to a photo-book draft?
A September 30, 2026 Google Photos Community announcement says in-progress photo-book drafts can be found under suggestions in the print store. From there, users can be redirected to the new store and recreate the book with the same photo selection.

Google says it shares with Fujifilm only the photos you select for printing and your account email address, to facilitate printing. Fujifilm uses that data under its privacy notice.

Disconnecting the Fujifilm print-store account has a significant consequence: it closes the account, deletes stored photos and data, and removes access to drafts and past or in-progress prints. Review anything you may want to keep before disconnecting.

The confirmed initial transition is in the US. The September 30 Google Photos Community post said Canada and Europe would follow “in the coming weeks,” but that was a forward-looking plan; the Google help information available for this article does not confirm that the expansion has since been completed. Availability may therefore depend on your region.
