The FS SFP-10G-T-30 converts a compatible 10G SFP+ port into an RJ-45 10GBASE-T connection, with a manufacturer-rated maximum reach of 30 m. It is not a universal RJ-45 adapter: the host must support this module, and FS says it will not establish a link in a 1G port. The specifications below come from FS product documentation and Q&A, not independent hands-on testing.
What the FS SFP-10G-T-30 does
FS identifies the SFP-10G-T-30 as a 10GBASE-T copper transceiver in an SFP+ form factor. It provides an RJ-45 interface for connecting compatible 10G SFP+ equipment to copper Ethernet. It is an active transceiver, not a passive adapter. FS specifies IEEE 802.3-compatible operation and a nominal data rate of up to 10 Gb/s. FS product page and datasheet
The form factor answers whether the module can fit a slot; it does not establish whether a switch or network interface card will operate it. Check the host’s supported transceivers, firmware requirements and SFP+ port power budget before purchasing. The manufacturer material cited here does not establish compatibility with every SFP+ device.
FS SFP-10G-T-30 specifications
| Specification | FS SFP-10G-T-30 |
|---|---|
| Interface and media | 10GBASE-T copper over RJ-45, according to FS |
| Nominal data rate | Up to 10 Gb/s, according to FS |
| Maximum reach | 30 m, according to FS; this rating applies to this model, not every SFP+ copper module |
| Cable guidance | Cat6A, Cat7 or higher, according to FS |
| Operating temperature | 0–70 °C case temperature, according to the datasheet |
| Storage temperature | -40–85 °C ambient, according to the datasheet |
| Crossover | Automatic crossover detection is enabled, according to the datasheet |
These are manufacturer specifications, not independently measured results. Use the current datasheet for the exact SKU and revision you are considering. FS also lists a separate 80 m product; its longer reach should not be attributed to the SFP-10G-T-30. FS product page and datasheet

Will it work in your port?
Confirm the host supports this transceiver
Compatibility depends on the particular switch or NIC, its firmware and the port’s power budget, as well as the module revision. Confirm support with the equipment vendor or its compatibility documentation. Physical insertion alone is not proof that the host will recognize the module or bring up a link.
Do not use this 10G-only model for a 1G port
FS says the SFP-10G-T-30 is designed for 10GBASE-T and is incompatible with 1G ports because of electrical signaling requirements. It may be possible to insert it physically, but FS says a link is unsupported. For 1G-T service, FS points to its SFP-GE-T module. FS SFP-10G-T-30 datasheet

Check the far end and the cable run
The peer device must support the intended link rate, and the cable and run must suit the connection. FS identifies Cat6A/Cat7 or higher for this 30 m product family. The module’s stated maximum reach is not a guarantee for every cable installation or host configuration.

| Model or variant | What FS material says | When to investigate it |
|---|---|---|
| SFP-10G-T-30 | 10GBASE-T; up to 30 m; 0–70 °C case operating temperature, per its datasheet | For a compatible 10G SFP+ host and a copper link within the model’s stated reach |
| SFP-10G-T-30I | FS describes this industrial variant as rated -40–85 °C | When the operating environment calls for an industrial temperature class; verify the current SKU datasheet |
| SFP-10G-T-30-RP | FS Q&A identifies a lower-power variant; a definitive consumption figure for the reviewed SKU is not established by the cited materials | When port power limits matter; confirm exact module power requirements against the current datasheet and host budget |
| SFP-10GM-T-30 | FS Q&A describes this as a separate multirate product | When 1G, 2.5G or 5G negotiation is needed; confirm supported speeds and host requirements on the exact product page |
| SFP-GE-T | FS recommends this separate module for 1G-T service | When the host port is 1G rather than 10G |
FS distinguishes the commercial SFP-10G-T-30 from the industrial “30I” version by temperature class. Do not apply the industrial rating to the commercial model. FS’s cited materials also describe different model contexts for power, so check the exact current SKU datasheet rather than assuming one consumption figure applies to all variants. What to verify before ordering
- Identify the exact port. Confirm that it is an SFP+ port intended for a 10GBASE-T transceiver, not a 1G SFP port.
- Check host compatibility. Verify the switch or NIC model, firmware requirements, supported module coding and port power budget with the equipment vendor.
- Match the link requirement. Confirm the peer’s rate and whether the link needs 10G-only operation or multirate negotiation.
- Measure the cable run. Keep the total distance within the FS-stated 30 m maximum for this model and use the cable category FS specifies.
- Match the environment. Compare the installation’s temperatures with the commercial module’s 0–70 °C case operating specification; consider a separately rated variant only after checking its own documentation.
- Check the revision. Consult the current SKU-specific datasheet because product documentation and compatibility lists may change.
Verdict: a narrow-fit option, not a universal adapter
The FS SFP-10G-T-30 is a defined option for a compatible 10G SFP+ port that needs an RJ-45 copper connection within the manufacturer’s 30 m reach. Its key limitation is equally clear: FS does not support it in a 1G port. If your port speed, host support, cabling or environmental needs differ, select a specifically documented alternative rather than relying on the SFP+ shape or a similar model name.
