Frozen Korean street food is appearing in more U.S. grocery channels, but the clearest evidence is a set of dated product launches—not a measured nationwide sales boom. CJ said its frozen Bibigo tteokbokki entered Kroger in June 2025, while reports also documented frozen Korean corn dogs at H Mart and Costco. Store stock varies, so check a retailer’s current listing and your local store before making a trip.
Where can you buy frozen Korean street food?
Recent reports point to both mainstream and specialty grocery channels, although they do not confirm what is in stock today.
- Frozen tteokbokki at Kroger: CJ said Bibigo frozen tteokbokki began selling at Kroger on June 11, 2025. That is a dated launch announcement, not a guarantee of current availability at every Kroger location. CJ’s announcement.
- Tteokbokki at Costco: CJ said it had previously introduced shelf-stable Bibigo tteokbokki at U.S. Costco. This is a different format from the frozen pan-cooked product. CJ’s announcement.
- Frozen Korean corn dogs at H Mart: A May 2024 feature from the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) reported several frozen brands at H Mart, including versions with mozzarella and fish-sausage fillings. It does not establish current inventory. IFT’s feature.
- Korean corn dogs at Costco: Axios reported Costco availability in July 2025, but did not establish current stock or nationwide coverage. Axios’s report.
For a specific product, look at the retailer’s current product page, then check local store inventory or call ahead. Availability can differ by store and date.

Tteokbokki: chewy rice cakes with sauce
Tteokbokki is made with rice cakes, often served in a spicy-sweet sauce. The products in the reports come in different retail formats, so “tteokbokki” does not automatically mean the same preparation or texture.

CJ describes its frozen Bibigo version as a pan-cooked product. The company says the rice cakes do not need washing and that cooks do not need to adjust the water; the contents are cooked in a frying pan. Those are the manufacturer’s directions and product claims, so follow the package instructions for the specific item you buy. CJ’s product announcement.
Korean corn dogs: a savory, handheld snack
Korean corn dogs are another street-food format moving into grocery retail. IFT’s 2024 report described frozen options at H Mart, including mozzarella and fish-sausage fillings. Axios also reported Costco availability in July 2025. These reports show examples, not a complete list of brands or stores.

Does grocery expansion prove a nationwide frozen-food boom?
No. The available figures support growing visibility for Korean food, but they measure different things from U.S. supermarket sales of frozen street-food products.
Rank #3
- Shrimp, vegetables and fried rice with oyster flavored sauce.
- Easy microwavable bowl
- No preservatives
- Rice-cake exports: CJ CheilJedang reported that South Korean rice-cake export value to the U.S. grew by an average of 23% annually from 2020 through 2024. That is export value, not unit growth or U.S. retail sales. CJ’s announcement.
- CJ’s exports: CJ said its U.S. tteokbokki export sales were about four times higher in 2024 than in 2023. This is company-reported export performance, not a category-wide grocery-sales measure. CJ’s announcement.
- Bibigo sales: CJ Foods reported Bibigo tteokbokki sales in Q2 2024 were 2.5 times Q1 2024 sales, and said export destinations increased from 29 to 41 countries. These are company-reported brand sales and destination counts, not U.S. frozen grocery sales. CJ’s announcement.
- Restaurants and foodservice: Circana reported U.S. Korean restaurant locations were up 10% over the prior year in 2024. It counted 242 locations across five Korean corn-dog specialist chains, up 52% year over year, and reported 450 new Korean restaurant locations since 2018, with 36% in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York City. These figures describe restaurant footprints, not packaged-food purchases. Circana’s September 2024 release.
Together, the figures and retail reports suggest that Korean flavors and products are gaining exposure through several channels. They do not quantify total U.S. frozen Korean street-food sales or prove that availability is uniform nationwide.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why are Korean street-food products attracting attention?
Restaurant growth, grocery launches, and wider interest in Korean culture provide context for the products’ increased visibility, but none alone explains an individual shopper’s choice. Circana’s Tim Fires, president of Global Foodservice, connected the food trend to Korean pop culture and the reach of TikTok in a September 2024 statement: “This culinary trend is a vital part of the Korean Wave—a cultural movement that has elevated South Korean pop culture, from K-pop to K-dramas, to worldwide prominence since the 1990s, now further amplified by the reach of platforms like TikTok.” Circana’s release.

For Korean corn dogs specifically, Axios quoted Two Hands Corn Dogs CEO Paul Yoo describing his motivation to bring the food to American friends and colleagues before Korean culture’s increased popularity in the U.S. The interview also connected the snack with nostalgic memories of after-school treats. That perspective helps explain the appeal for some fans; it is not a survey of shoppers. Axios’s report.
