What’s new in Fortnitemares 2026?
Epic says the event spans Battle Royale, Horde Rush, and Reload. In Battle Royale, players can visit Freaky Fields and the new Nightmare Neighborhood POI, where Freddy Krueger appears. Defeating him awards Freddy’s Nightmare, which lets players teleport into range and slash opponents.

Weapons and cursed Overrides
- Bonerattler SMG: A new weapon for the event.
- Wood Stake Shotgun and Pumpkin Launcher: Returning weapons.

Animatronics and Horde Rush
Epic says players can face Five Nights at Freddy’s animatronic bosses, possess one, and terrorize the map. Horde Rush also returns.
Reload update on October 8
Epic says an updated Nitemare Island arrives in Reload on October 8, alongside the Stranger Things and Squid Grounds maps.

Which collaborations are part of Fortnitemares 2026?
Epic says new characters arrive during October from Five Nights at Freddy’s, Hazbin Hotel, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Beetlejuice, Obsession, and more. Five Nights at Freddy’s outfits are already in the Shop, according to the announcement.
The announcement also lists outfits and accessories tied to A Nightmare on Elm Street, Black Clover, Hollow Knight, 99 Nights in the Forest, Hazbin Hotel, The Purge, Obsession, Slender Man, Beetlejuice, Predator: Badlands, and Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights. Epic does not give individual release dates for these later October drops in that article.
