Fortnitemares 2026 adds the Bonerattler SMG and Freddy’s Nightmare, brings back four named weapons or items, and makes several explicit vault changes—but there is no single list that applies to every mode. Epic’s October 1 announcement says the event runs through November 1, 2026; its detailed post separates Battle Royale loot-pool updates, player-unlocked Loot Hacks and a distinct Blitz Royale rotation. Ranked and Competitive get only a portion of the event vaults and unvaults.
What weapons are new or returning in the Fortnitemares 2026 loot pool?
Epic’s event overview identifies the Bonerattler SMG as new. Freddy’s Nightmare is also new event gear, but it is earned by defeating Freddy Krueger at Nightmare Neighborhood rather than described as an ordinary weapon spawn. The returning items named in Epic’s detailed post are the Wood Stake Shotgun, Dual Fiend Hunters, Witch Broom and Heavy Assault Rifle.

Epic’s announcements identify these items and effects but do not provide damage, DPS, range or spawn odds. They therefore do not support a weapon-strength ranking.

Epic’s detailed Fortnitemares post explicitly lists these general loot-pool changes:

The post also introduces the Snack-O’-Lantern Gizmo: throw it and break it open to spill Exotic Candy. Epic lists it as a loot-pool update, but does not describe it as a weapon.
Loot Hacks are unlockable customizations, not a universal weapon list
Epic says players can unlock Loot Hacks that customize their loot pool. The named Loot Hack options are Last Call, Infantry Rifle, Pumpkin Launcher, Light Machine Gun, Slap Candy Corn and Loot Hacker Sprite variants. Treat these separately from the event’s general new-and-returning items: the announcement describes them as player-unlocked pool customizations, not as items guaranteed to appear for every player in ordinary loot.
Last Call also has a specific Blitz detail: Epic describes it as a knife associated with becoming Ghost Face. Eliminating its wielder takes the weapon and the role. That mode-specific behavior should not be read as a general Battle Royale acquisition rule.
Blitz Royale has its own Fortnitemares rotation
Epic’s v42.30 Blitz update lists a separate seasonal rotation. It names Bonerattler SMG, Chainsaw, Freddy’s Nightmare, Infantry Rifle, Last Call, Makeshift Revolver, Myst Form, Pump Shotgun, Pumpkin Launcher, Wood Stake Shotgun, Striker Assault Rifle, Tactical Submachine Gun, Candy Corn, Hop Drops and Peppermints. This is a Blitz-specific list, not a definitive list of Battle Royale spawns.
Epic also distinguishes Blitz acquisition contexts rather than presenting every item as floor loot:

Epic says Ranked and Competitive will receive only “a portion” of the Fortnitemares vaults and unvaults. It does not identify the complete item-by-item selection for those playlists in the detailed announcement, so the full event list above should not be assumed to apply there.

Fortnitemares spans Battle Royale, Horde Rush and Reload, but Reload has a separately scheduled update. Epic announced that the updated Nitemare Island map would return on October 8, 2026, with horror weapons and siphon loot; Stranger Things and Squid Grounds were also announced for the map rotation. As of October 3, that Reload update was still upcoming, not confirmed live.
How long does Fortnitemares 2026 run?
Epic’s October 1 event post says Fortnitemares runs until November 1, 2026. Its announcement establishes the event window and named content, but does not give an item-by-item end date or establish that every announced item stays available for the entire event. For a later date or a specific playlist, check the live in-game mode and current Epic updates.
