Fortnite v42.30 went live on October 1, 2026, bringing Fortnitemares changes, a scheduled Halloween season for Reload, and new tools for UEFN creators. Epic confirms the v42.30 release date; the console label 1.000.233 appears only in a secondary report and is not confirmed by Epic’s reviewed notes.
When did Fortnite v42.30 release?
Epic’s v42.30 release notes give October 1, 2026 as the release date. The update covers more than Battle Royale: Epic’s notes include seasonal game content alongside changes to UEFN creator tools and publishing workflows.

What changed for Fortnitemares and Battle Royale?
Epic’s Fortnitemares 2026 update describes seasonal changes and fixes across gameplay, the interface, PC, and mobile. It also discusses an Epic Quality Assets option and streaming improvements.
Epic says gameplay takes priority in network bandwidth allocation for gameplay and streamed assets. Cosmetics continue to download on demand. The notes describe how the game handles those assets; they do not report a numerical performance result.

What is coming to Reload?
In its Reload update notes, Epic says the Steady Storm modifier remains active until Monday, October 5, 2026, at 7 a.m. ET. The same announcement says Nitemare Island: Kado’s Curse arrives October 8 as a new Reload season, with new gameplay, weapons, and cosmetic rewards for Ranked and Map Mastery.
What is new for UEFN creators?
Epic’s v42.30 notes introduce creator-facing templates, checks, analytics, and workflow changes. These additions are separate from player-facing Battle Royale content.

- Character conversations: A template for creating characters powered by large language models (LLMs).
- Held items: A template for carryable items that are not weapons.
- Content checks: In-editor pre-checks for content.
- Island analytics: Benchmarks for click-through rate, five-minute bounce rate, average session length, D1 retention, and D7 retention. Epic lists the measures but does not provide numerical performance results.
- Other workflow changes: The notes describe Verse path display and ability-template changes. Rocket Racing template islands become unpublished and unplayable.
Which named items and assets are mentioned?
Epic’s ecosystem notes name the Witch Broom, Slap Candy Corn, and Easy Ride Pumpkin Launcher, as well as Lavish Lair prefab and gallery content. Slap Candy Corn applies the Slap effect when consumed. The notes place these items and assets in the wider Fortnite creator and content ecosystem; they should not all be read as Battle Royale loot changes.
Is 1.000.233 the confirmed console patch number?
MP1st’s search-result excerpt identifies 1.000.233 as a console patch label, but its article could not be opened and Epic’s reviewed v42.30 pages do not confirm that number. Treat it as a reported console version label, not an Epic-confirmed identifier for every platform.
Quick Recap

- If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
- The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
- Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device.
