Fortnite chest locations change with the island and season, and a mapped chest spot does not guarantee a chest will appear there in your match. Epic’s current Battle Royale page confirms chest looting but does not publish a complete ordinary-chest map, a universal current spawn rate, or an ordinary-chest loot table. Check current-season information and verify locations in-game rather than relying on old maps or percentages.
Where are the chest locations in Fortnite?
There is no authoritative, current public list in Epic’s Battle Royale materials of every ordinary chest location. The live island page currently identifies Chapter 7 Season 4 and describes the island as “ever-changing,” so exact location advice can become outdated when the map changes. For a specific season, use a map that is explicitly updated for that season, then treat each marked chest location as a possible spot rather than a guarantee. If you need to know what is available in your match, confirm in-game. The available information does not support ranking current named locations by ordinary-chest density.
Do chests spawn every match? Are chest spawns guaranteed?
Not every possible chest spot should be assumed to contain a chest in every match. The public current information does not establish a universal chest spawn probability for standard Battle Royale, so a precise percentage—or a claim that a chest is guaranteed—cannot be supported here.

Chest availability can differ by mode and has changed historically. For example, Epic’s v8.30 patch notes gave a 100% chest and floor-loot spawn chance for the Team Rumble limited-time mode at that time. Why was there no chest at a marked spot?
- The spot may be one of several possible locations, not a guaranteed spawn point.
- The map or advice may refer to a different season or island version.
- The information may concern a different mode, or a special container rather than an ordinary chest.
What loot can I get from a chest?
Epic’s current Battle Royale page refers to chest loot but does not publish a current ordinary-chest loot table. How are special chests and containers different?
Names such as Loot Carriers, Sprite Chests, and seasonal Pumpkin Chests refer to distinct mechanics or containers. Their locations, availability, and contents should not be treated as ordinary-chest rules.

Loot Carriers and Hot Spots
Epic’s v9.10 notes described Hot Spots as randomly selected named locations highlighted in gold on the map, where Loot Carriers could be found. Those carriers dropped a Rare-or-higher weapon and two stacks of ammunition under the rules documented at the time. Sprite Chests
A community-maintained Sprite Chest page says possible locations are fixed, but not every point is active in every match. That guidance applies to Sprite Chests, not ordinary chests. Sprite Chest reference
Seasonal Pumpkin Chests
Pumpkin Chests are seasonal containers reported during Fortnitemares. Their availability belongs to the event and season being covered; do not assume they remain on the island after the event ends. Fortnite news

Does Creative use the same chest system as Battle Royale?
Not necessarily. Epic’s Creative documentation describes a chest device or object that creators can use to store items and equip players in their own islands.
