The six items are an Omega Speedmaster 38mm, a Garmin Cirqa tracker, KEF LS50 Wireless II speakers, a Hans Zimmer film-scoring course on MasterClass, a Porsche Macan GTS Electric, and a Playseat Formula Instinct sim-racing setup with a Logitech G Pro Racing Wheel and Pro Racing Pedals. Stuff contributor Esat Dedezade published the list on 20 September 2026. He describes it as “a bit of Friday afternoon fun,” and it is a personal wishlist written by someone who says he is nearing 40, not a tested ranking.
Read it as a template rather than a shopping list. The six picks are different kinds of purchase: a mechanical watch, a screenless tracker, home audio hardware, an online course, a car, and a racing rig. Each has its own set-up demands and running costs, so the useful question for any of them is what it would need from your home, your routine and your budget.
The six picks, one at a time
Omega Speedmaster 38mm
The author’s reason is fatigue with smartwatch notifications and a wish for a watch with more character. The feature singles out the refreshed 38mm version with a black dial, a five-link steel bracelet and the automatic Calibre 3332. It credits Stuff watch specialist Spencer Hart as the reference behind that choice.
As the feature describes it, the movement is self-winding, so wrist movement keeps it running, and the chronograph works as a separate stopwatch function. A self-winding watch stops if it goes unworn for long enough, so anyone who rotates a few watches will need a winder or to reset the time after a break. Those mechanical details are reported by the article and have not been checked against Omega’s own documentation.

Garmin Cirqa
The Cirqa is the author’s attempt to keep the Garmin ecosystem without a screen on his wrist. The feature says it tracks activity, sleep and heart rate and syncs with Garmin Connect. It also reports a claimed battery life of up to 10 days and no subscription for core tracking, and the author’s choice rests on those points.
Because the screenless design is the whole appeal, the buyer is giving up on-wrist notifications and on-device controls. The battery figure is a manufacturer-style claim that the feature passes along, and it is not a measurement made for this article.
KEF LS50 Wireless II
The author wants a proper listening setup to replace the kitchen Echo Show. The LS50 Wireless II is an active speaker, so it has its own amplifier and does not need a separate one, which is the main draw for a simple system. The feature lists AirPlay 2, Google Cast and HDMI eARC as supported connections.

Those connections depend on a home network for the streaming protocols, and eARC needs a TV with a matching HDMI port. Placement also matters more than most gadget choices: a pair of speakers needs a room where they can be positioned well and kept clear of the listening chair. None of these details were tested for the feature.
Hans Zimmer’s film-scoring course on MasterClass
This is the only pick that is not a physical object. The author’s wider wish includes learning Japanese or the guitar, and he says a Hans Zimmer course is tempting. The feature reports 31 lessons and five hours 40 minutes of recorded instruction. That works out to roughly 11 minutes per lesson on average, so it is a sampler of a craft rather than a deep training programme.
The feature did not verify whether the course is currently available or what it costs, so any buyer should check MasterClass’s catalogue before planning around it.

Porsche Macan GTS Electric
The car is the most aspirational item on the list, and the feature reports the following: 0–60 mph in 3.6 seconds with Launch Control; a sports air suspension set 10 mm lower; optional rear-wheel steering; and 10–80% charging in 21 minutes under optimal fast-charging conditions. Stuff attributes the performance and charging figures to Porsche.
The 21-minute charging figure applies only under optimal fast-charging conditions. A buyer without a suitable fast charger at home or at a regular stop should not expect that time in daily use, and the feature does not say how long a slower home charge would take.
Playseat Formula Instinct with Logitech G Pro Racing Wheel and Pro Racing Pedals
The author ties this pick to a recent visit to Brands Hatch. He points to the seat’s immersion and comfort, the wheel’s direct-drive force, Trueforce detail in supported games, and the pedals’ ability to measure braking force. These are the attractions the author describes, and the feature does not report testing this exact setup.

Trueforce only does its job in games that support it, so the rig is only as good as your game library. A rig also takes up a fixed amount of floor and wall space that a sofa or a watch does not.

Deciding which of the six belongs on your own list
A wishlist like this one works best when each item is judged against the same few questions. These are the ones that separate a sensible pick from an expensive whim.

- Intended use: Will you wear, listen to, drive or train with it every week, or is it a once-in-a-while treat?
- Setup and space: Does it need a room, a charger, a mounting spot or a network connection you do not already have?
- Existing equipment: Does it fit what you already own, such as a Garmin account, a TV with eARC, or a PC or console your wheel supports?
- Recurring costs: Is there a subscription, a course fee or a running cost beyond the purchase price?
- Ownership horizon: Will the item still suit you at 50, or does it depend on a service or a product generation that may change?
The list mixes physical products with a paid course, so the checks differ. A watch or a speaker can be compared on specification and fit. A course has to be judged on whether its length and format match what you want to learn, and on whether it is available to you at all.
Checking the numbers before you buy
- Open the manufacturer’s current product page for each item and confirm the exact model, since the feature names specific versions such as the 38mm Speedmaster and the Calibre 3332.
- Read the test conditions beside every claimed figure. The Cirqa’s battery life and the Porsche’s 21-minute charge both depend on conditions the buyer may not meet.
- For the MasterClass course, check the provider’s current catalogue for availability and pricing, because the feature did not verify either.
- For the Porsche, confirm the exact version and market with Porsche, since the performance and charging figures are reproduced from the article rather than checked against current specifications.
- For the sim-racing setup, check the wheel’s compatibility with your platform and the games you play before buying the pedals and seat.
Treat the six picks as the author’s personal reasons for wanting them. Your own list will look different once you measure the room, the charger and the budget against each one.
