Fliff is a social sportsbook and promotional sweepstakes service, not one single balance you deposit and cash out. It separates nonredeemable Fliff Coins, used for social play, from Fliff Cash, used in promotional sweepstakes games. Fliff Cash may become eligible for a prize redemption only after play-through and verification, and product availability depends on location. The distinction matters: Fliff describes its model as compliant where it operates, while the Illinois Gaming Board has challenged its activity in Illinois.

What is Fliff?

Fliff describes itself as a social sportsbook where users make sports predictions and participate in promotional games and loyalty features. Its service uses two balances with different rules. Fliff Coins are for social play and cannot be redeemed for money or prizes under the company’s Terms. Fliff Cash is associated with promotional sweepstakes games and may be redeemable as a prize if a participant meets the rules.

Fliff says a wallet deposit is not required. Users can claim Fliff Coins for free; optional purchases are for virtual Fliff Coins, not deposits or purchases of Fliff Cash. The official rules also describe free ways to receive Fliff Cash and state that a purchase is never required to enter. Fliff’s FAQ, Sweepstakes Rules, and Terms explain the current arrangement.

Fliff Coins vs. Fliff Cash

Balance How it is used Can it be redeemed?
Fliff Coins Social-play games, XP, and community features; users may claim them for free or purchase them. No. Fliff’s Terms say they have no monetary value, cannot be transferred or sold, and cannot be exchanged for cash or prizes. Fliff Coin games can award additional Fliff Coins.
Fliff Cash Promotional sweepstakes games. The official rules describe free entry routes and, where offered, a free bonus associated with certain coin purchases. Potentially, as a prize after applicable play-through, eligibility, and identity-verification requirements are met. Receiving Fliff Cash does not mean it is immediately redeemable.

Fliff’s rules list four ways eligible participants can receive Fliff Cash: a free bonus associated with claiming free Fliff Coins, subject to balance and pending-redemption conditions; a free bonus with qualifying Fliff Coin purchases where shown; no-cost social-media giveaways; and a mail-in entry method. The exact conditions are in the official Sweepstakes Rules.

How Fliff Cash redemption works

Fliff Cash must generally be played at least once before redemption eligibility; Fliff reserves discretion to require more play-through. The app’s Prize Play-Through section shows the amount that applies to a participant. Under the rules, after play-through, only the lower of the risk amount or the payout less the risk becomes eligible. A potential winner must also satisfy eligibility requirements and complete verification.

The current rules state a minimum redemption of 50 eligible Fliff Cash, corresponding at present to a $50 prize request, and a maximum of $5,000 per Sweepstakes Period. They also reserve the right to impose weekly or monthly limits and processing fees. These are rule terms rather than guarantees of approval or timing; consult the live rules and app before relying on a threshold.

Verification may require government-issued photo identification, biometric facial-scan recognition, proof of address, and Social Security number validation. The exact documentation can depend on the verification process.

How sports picks and payouts work

Fliff offers straight picks, parlays, and single-game parlays. Its Sports Prediction Rules say submitted picks cannot be cancelled and payouts are calculated using the odds in effect when the pick is submitted. Posted odds and limits can change without prior written notice.

Settlement depends on the sport and market. Postponements or venue changes may make a pick no-action; if that happens to a leg in a parlay, the rules may recalculate the parlay without that leg. Overtime is included for some markets, such as general totals and moneyline or spread settlement unless the rules specify otherwise. Soccer match-winner picks, for example, are determined over 90 minutes and exclude overtime and penalty shots. Check the in-app rules for the particular market before submitting a pick. See Fliff’s Sports Prediction Rules.

Where Fliff is available

Availability differs by product and activity, and Fliff says eligibility can vary by state and month. The current Sweepstakes Rules exclude Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Tennessee, Washington, and West Virginia. Separately, the Terms exclude Washington and Idaho from Fliff Coin games.

Fliff’s Pick’Em help article, updated March 23, 2026, gives a different restricted-state list for that product: California, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, New Mexico, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, and West Virginia. These lists are not interchangeable. Check the current map, the rules for the specific product, and the app for your location. The relevant sources are the Sweepstakes Rules, Terms, and Pick’Em help article.

Age requirements and account verification

Fliff’s Help Center says users must be at least 18 to register and use the service, with lower purchase limits for ages 18–22. The Terms and Sweepstakes Rules require users to meet the higher local age of majority where applicable and to be legally eligible to participate where they are located. Check the requirements that apply to your state and product before creating an account.

What regulators say about Fliff

Fliff’s website says it complies with applicable laws where it operates. That is the company’s position, not an independent legal determination. In a letter identified as dated February 4, 2026, the Illinois Gaming Board said Fliff was not licensed or authorized for online gambling activity in Illinois and demanded that it block Illinois residents or stop offering cash, gift cards, and other prizes through the service. The letter’s body contains a malformed date, so its date should be attributed to the letter identification rather than treated as a reliable event date.

The Board’s letter establishes its allegation and demand; it does not by itself establish the ultimate legal outcome or Fliff’s later compliance status. Readers should not assume that Fliff’s description of its model settles the legal question in every jurisdiction. The Board’s website provides its agency information.

Responsible-play controls

Fliff’s responsible-play policy frames the service as entertainment rather than a way to earn income and advises users not to chase losses. The company describes hourly session reminders; requested daily, weekly, or monthly limits on coin purchases, play amounts, and time; cool-off periods of one, seven, or 30 days; and self-exclusion options of one, three, or five years. These are company-described controls, not an independent assessment of their effectiveness. Details are in Fliff’s Responsible Play policy.
