This verdict is one reviewer’s first-person experience, not a lab-tested ranking, so the details below separate what he reports from what the manufacturer and retailer publish.
What the reviewer liked
Corden’s review, published 30 September 2026, opens with a deliberate contrast. The C3 has no RGB lighting and no built-in speakers, the features many gaming chairs lead with. He argues that these omissions don’t matter when the chair is judged on the things you feel over a full workday. He singles out four:
- The seat. It is broad and thickly cushioned, with a W-shaped profile that he found comfortable for long sessions.
- The back. The mesh backrest keeps the chair feeling airy rather than enclosed, which suits a desk posture.
- Lumbar and armrests. The lumbar support adjusts for height, and the 4D armrests give him control over the arms’ position.
- Build. The frame feels sturdy, which matters for a chair you sit in for hours.
His overall judgement is unambiguous: “The FlexiSpot C3 is by a mile the best chair I’ve ever used for desk-based work and play.” Treat that as a personal opinion from one reviewer who replaced a gaming chair, not a controlled comparison against competing models.

Where it falls short
The same review that praises the C3 is clear about its limits:
- No headrest or upper backrest. If you recline and want your head and upper back supported, this is the main reason to look elsewhere.
- Not a reclining chair. It is designed for upright desk work, not a deep, relaxed recline.
- One colorway. The review reports that only one color is offered.
Who it suits
Replacing a gaming chair for desk work
This is the buyer the review is written for. If most of your time is spent at a desk and you want a chair that feels comfortable through long sessions, the cushioned seat and adjustable support are the features that matter. Gaming-style lighting or speakers are not part of the value here.

Reclining, or wanting head and neck support
If you lean back for long stretches or rely on a headrest, the C3’s missing upper backrest makes it a poor match. Corden himself points readers with that need toward a different chair.
Choosing between a cushioned seat and mesh
The C3 combines both: a substantial cushioned seat with a mesh back. If you prefer a fully mesh seat, this is not that design, and it is worth testing a mesh-seat chair in person before deciding.

FlexiSpot UK’s category page lists the C3 as the “227kg Heavy Duty Office Chair C3.” The review cites the same capacity. Both figures describe the load rating. They do not guarantee that the chair will fit or feel right for every user within that limit.
