Flai says its AI software schedules more than 50,000 dealership appointments per month across sales and service. The company announced that figure on October 6, 2026; TechCrunch reported it the same day. Neither source provides an independent audit, a counting method, or a definition of what qualifies as an appointment, so the figure should be read as a company-reported volume—not proof of completed visits or bookings that would not otherwise have happened.

What Flai’s 50,000-appointment figure means

The figure describes appointments Flai says its software schedules each month across dealership sales and service workflows. Flai’s October 6, 2026 announcement reported more than 50,000 monthly appointments, and TechCrunch reported the same figure after interviewing CEO Ari Polakof.

The public reports do not explain how Flai counts an appointment, whether canceled or rescheduled bookings are included, or how the total is measured. They also do not establish that every scheduled appointment becomes a dealership visit, or that every booking is incremental. The number is therefore useful as a measure of the operating volume Flai says it handles, not as an independently verified outcome.

What Flai’s software does for dealerships

Flai presents its product as communications and operations software for dealerships, rather than only an automated phone-answering service. Its product page describes support for customer conversations and workflows across service and sales, connected to the dealership’s existing customer relationship management (CRM) system, dealer management system (DMS), and scheduler. These are the company’s descriptions of its product, not independently tested capabilities.

  • Responding to customers: handling inbound calls and customer inquiries, including outside the dealership’s stated operating hours.
  • Booking and follow-up: scheduling appointments and conducting outbound campaigns or follow-up with customers.
  • Workflow visibility: maintaining customer records and surfacing conversations or issues for dealership staff and leadership.
  • Sales and service coverage: supporting workflows in both departments rather than limiting the product to service calls.

Polakof described the intended scope in a TechCrunch interview: “Sure, we do answer the phone calls, but we’re following up with customers, we’re alerting the leadership whenever they need to take a look at something, maybe because the customer’s mad, or because you forgot to respond, or promised them something next week,” he said.

Controls and safeguards Flai describes

Flai says dealerships can set the system’s voice and tone, operating hours, and booking rules. The company also says uncertain requests are escalated to staff rather than answered by guesswork. Its product page states that it supports major languages and that customer data is encrypted in transit and at rest, with consent, opt-out, and call-recording retention controls. These are vendor statements; the sources reviewed do not independently assess their implementation or effectiveness.

How widely Flai says it is deployed

Flai and TechCrunch described the company’s reach somewhat differently. The figures below retain each source’s own wording rather than treating them as a single audited count.

Source and date Reported dealership reach
Flai announcement, October 6, 2026 Hundreds of dealerships and more than 20% of the top 50 U.S. dealer groups
TechCrunch report, October 6, 2026 More than 10 of the top 50 U.S. dealer groups

The descriptions indicate adoption among large dealer groups, but the sources do not provide a customer list or a shared measurement method that would resolve the difference in phrasing.

Funding behind the expansion

What one dealership case study reports

In a case study dated November 2025, Flai reported that Glendale Infiniti handled more than 1,800 calls per month using the platform, booked more than 160 service appointments, had zero missed calls, and saved 20% of staff time. These are vendor-reported figures for one dealership. The case study does not establish that the same results are typical, independently verified, or caused solely by Flai.

What a dealership should evaluate

The public information describes Flai’s intended capabilities, but does not provide a side-by-side comparison with other dealership communication systems. A dealership evaluating the product can use the following questions to determine whether it fits its own workflows:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Does it handle the dealership’s inbound calls and after-hours needs?
  • Can it schedule through the dealer’s existing CRM, DMS, and scheduler, and which workflows require staff intervention?
  • Does it cover the relevant sales and service processes, or only a subset?
  • How are outbound follow-ups and customer re-engagement configured and monitored?
  • What triggers escalation to staff, and how can employees review unresolved or sensitive conversations?
  • Can the vendor define how it counts appointments and provide dealership-specific evidence for the outcomes being evaluated?

Flai’s public product page offers a demo path, but the sources reviewed do not establish pricing, contract terms, or a publisher referral or reseller program.
