Fizz is retiring its Visual Voicemail app for Android. Starting November 13, 2026, the app will no longer be available. Fizz says its voicemail service stays active and that customers do not need to take any action. The notice covers the Android app only. It does not announce the end of Fizz voicemail, and it does not say that Fizz’s iPhone visual voicemail is going away. Its FAQ describes visual voicemail on iOS as built into the operating system.
What happens next depends on whether your Android phone includes its own visual voicemail feature. Fizz says Android users can use that built-in feature if their device supports it. Fizz has not published a list of compatible phones or dialer apps, so the answer is conditional and you need to check it on your own handset.
What Fizz has announced
Fizz’s official visual voicemail FAQ says: “Starting November 13, 2026, the Fizz Visual Voicemail app for Android will no longer be available.” The same FAQ adds: “Rest assured, your voicemail service will remain active. No action is required on your part.”

First, the change applies to one app on one platform. Second, the phone number and voicemail service are not being withdrawn. Fizz’s notice does not give a reason for the retirement, and independent coverage of it did not find one either.

Checking whether your Android phone supports visual voicemail natively
Fizz’s notice does not name supported phone models or dialer apps. Visual voicemail on Android usually appears as a voicemail list inside the phone’s own dialer or phone app, but the exact location and availability vary by manufacturer, software version and carrier configuration. Use these checks to find out where you stand:
- Open the phone app you use to make calls and look for a voicemail tab or a visual voicemail list.
- If you see a list of messages with names or times, and can play them without dialing in, your phone is providing visual voicemail itself.
- If you see no such option, check your phone’s settings for a voicemail or visual voicemail entry and confirm whether it is turned on.
- If the option exists but does not load Fizz messages, contact Fizz support with your phone make and model and the name of the dialer app you use. Fizz’s notice does not say how such cases will be handled after November 13.
Fizz’s troubleshooting guidance for the existing app asks customers to confirm correct phone configuration, the Android APN settings and the permissions requested by the app. Those checks help the current app work. They do not confirm that a phone will support native visual voicemail after the retirement date.

If native visual voicemail is not available
Voicemail can still be reached the traditional way. Fizz says you can reach your voicemail by holding the 1 key on your phone’s keypad. Fizz’s access guidance also lists 1-514-647-0999 as the server number. The notice does not say the number is needed for the 1-key method, so use the 1 key first and treat the server number as reference information.

Plan requirements
According to Fizz’s FAQ, your plan must include the Voicemail option and data for visual voicemail to work. If you are unsure, check your plan details in your Fizz account before the retirement date. If the plan does not include both, visual voicemail will not work regardless of your phone.
Message limits and how long messages are kept
Fizz’s current support guidance, accessed in 2026, sets these limits for voicemail:
Rank #4
- PRIVACY DISPLAY: Automatically hide your screen from those beside you. The built-in privacy display can be preset¹ to turn on when receiving notifications, typing passwords, or using specific apps
- TYPE IT IN. TRANSFORM IT FAST: Enhance any shot in seconds on your smartphone by using Photo Assist² with Galaxy AI.³ Add objects, restore details, or apply new styles by simply typing or tapping

| Item | Limit or retention period stated by Fizz |
|---|---|
| Mailbox capacity | 35 messages maximum |
| Unheard new message | Kept for 30 days from the date it was received |
| Listened-to message | Automatically deleted after 30 days |
| Saved message | Kept for 30 days from the date it was saved |
These figures are service rules for individual accounts. They are not estimates of how many customers are affected by the change.
Switching phones or losing the app
Fizz’s FAQ says that if you move to a new Android phone, the app is reinitialized there. Messages stored on the old phone will be lost, and only new messages received after the app is reactivated will appear. If you change handsets before or around November 13, plan for that loss.

What the notice does not explain
- Whether an app already installed on an Android phone will keep working after November 13, 2026.
- What happens to messages already stored in the app when the retirement takes effect.
- Which phone models and dialer apps support native visual voicemail after the change.
- Why Fizz is retiring the app.
Independent coverage of the announcement noted the first two gaps as well, so do not assume that the existing app or its stored messages will survive the date.
Quick Recap
Steps to take before November 13, 2026
- Confirm that your plan includes the Voicemail option and data.
- Check whether your Android phone offers visual voicemail in its own dialer or phone app.
- If it does not, make sure you know how to reach voicemail by holding the 1 key.
- Listen to any messages you need and save the audio or share it somewhere safe, if the app allows it.
- If you plan to change phones, move important messages off the old device before the switch.
- Recheck Fizz’s official visual voicemail FAQ close to the retirement date, because the wording and details may change.
